Eddie Hearn is anticipating the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois rematch clause to be activated. The latter delivered a devastating knockout blow to stun Wembley Stadium.

Joshua had been dropped multiple times after a scintillating performance from Dubois, with the vital and explosive right hand finish coming in the fifth-round.

Prior to the knockout, Joshua started to grow in confidence after a lethargic start to the bout. However, Dubois regained his composure after being wobbled and stunned the 96,000 sell-out crowd.

A superb counter saw Dubois land a clean strike on Joshua. The former unified world champion went crashing to the canvas and was unable to return to his feet.

For Dubois, it was easily the biggest win of his career to date. The 27-year-old further cements his credentials as the IBF world heavyweight champion.

Anthony Joshua Vs Daniel Dubois Rematch Fully Expected To Happen

According to Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn, the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois rematch clause will be activated. Hearn doesn’t expect any other outcome.

I think he [Joshua] will exercise that rematch clause, I think that’s a given. He’ll need a rest and it’s a dangerous fight, this guy is growing in confidence all the time.

He’ll believe he can hurt Dubois, he’ll believe he can beat him. But full credit to Daniel Dubois, he deserves all the credit, it was a great performance,” Hearn added.

Naturally, Joshua will be out for revenge and Dubois will be excited about taking him on again. Nevertheless, a date for next year will need to be ironed out before the two fighters can begin preparations.

Hearn himself opened up on the plans for Joshua going into the new year during the post match press conference. Unsurprisingly, a bout with Tyson Fury was mentioned.

We have another fight with Riyadh Season and Turki Al-Sheikh and Daniel Dubois is part of that plan, but so too could be Tyson Fury or another heavyweight.

I think that 2025 is going to be an interesting year for Anthony Joshua, one way or another, but he will definitely be back and whether it’s against Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, whoever, you’re going to be entertained,” Hearn added.
