AJ vs Dubois

Anthony Joshua faces off with Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night and ahead of the British heavyweight clash, we have all the expert predictions and picks.

Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois Expert Picks

Oleksandr Usyk

Prediction: Joshua

Oleksandr Usyk was the last man to beat both Anthony Joshua and Dubois in the ring, so arguably his prediction is the most valid out there having overcome both heavyweights.

Usyk could be in line to complete the trilogy against Joshua or a rematch against Dubois in the near future, but the current WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champ believes Saturday’s bout will go to AJ.

“My favourite is Anthony Joshua, but I am very bad at predictions. But I will predict Anthony Joshua … I don’t think [Dubois can reach Joshua’s level]. I am sorry for saying this, but this is the truth, and I’m telling it.”

Joe Joyce

Prediction: Dubois

Joe Joyce faced off against Daniel Dubois in 2020 and the 39-year-old is one of just two fighters to come out on top against Dubois, with an emphatic knockout in the 10th round.

Although Joyce first came out saying that AJ would win this weekend, the former interim heavyweight champ has changed his mind and is now in the minority in thinking that Dubois will edge Joshua this weekend.

“I was initially edging with Joshua but I don’t know, Dubois is coming on.

“I think that’ll be a good fight. I’m gonna try and be there or watch it and see who gonna be the winner. It’s a very tasty fight, I like the build-up where Dubois is coming out of his shell and Joshua’s biting back, all that animosity is exciting stuff. Yeah, I can’t wait to see it.”

Tony Bellew

Prediction: Joshua

Tony Bellew never faced Dubois or Joshua during his heyday, but the Evertonian was still one of the most feared heavyweight’s of his time with 30 wins (20KO’s) and just three losses (2KO’s).

Bellew was one of the most confident former pros with his prediction with the boxing pundit backing Joshua’s experience to come into play on Saturday at Wembley.

“All I can see is Joshua early. The first four rounds,” Bellew said.

“I know Daniel carries a big threat and he’s had a couple of big wins over Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller, but Joshua is a level or two above those guys and this fight is on another level to anything Daniel has encountered before.”

Francis Ngannou

Prediction: Joshua

Anthony Joshua’s last win in the ring came via a brutal knockout against former MMA champion Francis Ngannou in March, taking his win streak to four in the last two years.

After getting flattened by Joshua in Saudi Arabia, it is no surprise that Ngannou is backing AJ to come out on top against Dubois.

“Even though Joshua lost against Usyk twice and Dubois fought Usyk and almost knocked him down and almost won, I would still give this to Joshua.”

Dillian Whyte

Prediction: Undecided

Dillian Whyte is another on this list to have lost to Joshua but unlike everyone else who has given a prediction, the 46-year-old couldn’t separate the stars this weekend.

Whyte dubbed the fight a ’50/50′ affair but made sure to disagree with Joshua, who believes he is coming into the bout as an underdog at Wembley.

“AJ’s saying he’s the underdog and he’s got doubters, I don’t think no-one’s doubting him, I don’t think he’s the underdog. Dubois is saying the same.

“I just think that it’s one of those fights where it is a genuine 50/50 fight in my opinion.”
