Anthony Joshua’s next fight is a hot topic of conversation now, following his devastating defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last time out in front of 98,128 spectators. So, who will AJ’s next fight be against, when and where will it take place?

Anthony Joshua Next Fight: Daniel Dubois Rematch In Early 2025?

Although it hasn’t been long since his shock defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21st, boxing fans are already talking about Anthony Joshua’s next fight and who they want to see ‘AJ’ return to the ring against in 2025.

Anthony Joshua‘s last fight saw him knocked out in Round 5 of his heavyweight world title fight against ‘DDD’ in front of 98,128 started spectators, with AJ’s next fight now a hot topic of conversation in the aftermath.

Many fans have called for Joshua to even call time on his career, given that he suffered a devastating knockout to Dubois and can sail off into the sunset with hundreds of millions in the bank and his legacy in tact. However, it is evident Anthony Joshua himself has other ideas and retirement certainly isn’t one of them.

Whether or not Joshua fights Dubois again in his next fight remains to be seen. As he was the challenger, he doesn’t necessarily have a rematch clause he can trigger. However, promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed his desire to make the rematch with ‘Dynamite’ immediately, stating that there is no time for another rebuild.

Thus, if ”AJ’ does fight on and Dubois is standing in the opposite corner once again in his next fight, Joshua will likely go into it as a slight underdog with the best UK betting sites given the manner of defeat at Wembley Stadium.

Being an underdog isn’t something Anthony Joshua is really used to, given that the only time he was ever an underdog in a fight was for the Oleksandr Usyk rematch.

Time will tell what happens and how the remainder of Joshua’s story unfolds, but a rematch with Daniel Dubois is certain a fight that looks very much like a real possibility next.

Could AJ’s Next Fight Be Against Tyson Fury?

It looks like the Daniel Dubois rematch is the most likely fight for Joshua next, with either Saudi Arabia or the UK the likely destinations. However, if this isn’t the case, names such as Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, Joseph Parker and Martin Bakole have been thrown about as potential opponents for AJ’s next fight instead.

Depending on what happens on December 21st in the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch could play a major part in who Anthony Joshua’s next fight is against. Should Usyk win, the Tyson Fury fight is very much a possibility, with both seemingly nowhere to go after their respective losses.

Should Fury win, there would likely be a trilogy with Usyk, with Joshua then back to the drawing board himself for either a Dubois rematch or another name at the top of the heavyweight division.

Joseph Parker, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole all deserve big fights after the runs they are on respectively, so perhaps one of those names could be stood in the opposite corner for AJ’s next fight.

The best boxing betting sites in the UK would likely favour Joshua to beat everyone bar Fury, Dubois and Usyk. Time will tell what happens next regarding Anthony Joshua. He is still arguably the biggest name besides Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in world boxing.

Not to mention the fact that His Excellency Turki Alalshikh wants to continue his involvement in elite professional boxing, and ‘AJ’ still has worldwide star power and an existing healthy relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Fingers crossed an official announcement is made in the next few months for Anthony Joshua’s next fight.
