Andy Murray Swaps Tennis Racket For Golf Clubs As He Gets Set For Celebrity Pro-Am
Since calling time on his tennis career after the Paris Olympics, Andy Murray is now set to feature at the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am.
The two-time Wimbledon winner will team up with fellow Scot Robert MacIntyre at the event in Wentworth on September 18.
Murray only announced his retirement in August. However, the 37-year-old will partner with professional golf star MacIntyre in Surrey.
28-year-old MacIntyre has enjoyed a stellar 2024 so far. He landed his first PGA Tour title at the Canadian Open and also went on to win the Scottish Open.
MacIntyre was also part of Europe’s successful Ryder Cup team last year. The celebrity duo will be joined by the likes of UEFA Champions League legend Gareth Bale, Jordan Pickford and Troy Deeney.
Furthermore, cricket heroes James Anderson and Ollie Pope will also feature. Hollywood star Tom Holland will also be present alongside comedian Michael McIntyre.

Robert MacIntyre Says Andy Murray Is A Hero
Since hanging up his tennis racket, Andy Murray has been enjoying his retirement on various golf courses. Something of which will hold him in good stead ahead of the event later this month.
This will please his Pro-Am partner MacIntyre. The best betting sites in the UK price the Scot at 60/1 to win the BMW Championship proper, which starts a day after the Pro-Am.
“Andy is a hero to so many people in Scotland – and across the world – and it’s pretty exciting to be playing alongside him in his BMW PGA Championship debut.
“He’s been absolutely dedicated to tennis during his incredible career. But it looks like he’s been playing plenty of golf since his retirement. So I’m looking forward to seeing if all that practice has paid off,” MacIntyre explained.
Throughout his glittering career, Murray tasted singles success at Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016. His first Grand Slam win came in New York as he won the US Open in 2012.
