Five of the Best Tennis Betting Sites in Detail

We have now listed the ten very best tennis betting sites available in the UK. The next step is to get to know the top five in a little more detail.

1. Bet365 – Our Number One Pick for the Best Tennis Betting Site

It’s probably not going to come as too much of a surprise to learn that we’ve chosen bet365 as our leader among the best tennis betting sites in the UK, as it is number one for most things betting-wise. Why is it number one for tennis? Well, mainly because of the sheer breadth of markets it has available. If tennis is your passion and tennis betting is very important to you, then it’s impossible to go wrong with the tennis betting options at bet365. It simply has more matches and more markets than any other site.

bet365 tennis

It offers full coverage of Grand Slam qualifiers and ITF matches, plus the ATP, WTA, Challenger and UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) tours. Bet365 tennis betting also offers a unique ‘Tennis Retirement Guarantee’ where bets in which your backed player retires hurt are paid as wins, although your stake is returned as cash and your ‘winnings’ are paid as bet credit. This is still an excellent deal, though, and another reason for us to pick bet365 as our number one site for tennis betting.

Bet Here Because:

  • Has more tennis market coverage than any other site
  • Unique ‘Tennis Retirement Guarantee’ pays out ‘retired hurt’ as wins
  • Outright odds many months in advance

But Keep in Mind:

  • Unattractive site design

2. Betway – Ideal Site for Live Tennis Betting

As we will explain in depth later, tennis is an ideal sport for live betting. That’s because there are so many breaks in play – after every point, in fact, and extended breaks between games, sets and change of ends in tiebreaks. This allows you time to get your live tennis betting bets on, and we fancy Betway is the best tennis betting site at which to place your live tennis bets. Not only that, Betway can boast tennis legend Andy Roddick as its Global Tennis Ambassador.

betway tennis

Just pop across to the tennis section of the Betway betting site, and you’ll see all the tennis betting options that are available for that day’s play. All Grand Slams ATP, WTA and Challenger events are covered. You can hit the ‘Live Now’ menu item for details of the games currently in play, and you will find that many of them are live-streamed. There’s also a tennis coupon where you can bet on all that day’s matches, and the Free Bet Club which can award you £10 in free bets on tennis, every week!

Bet Here Because:

  • Has ex-US tennis star Andy Roddick as Global Tennis Ambassador
  • Free Bet Club – opt-in to earn a £10 free bet every week
  • Daily tennis coupon featuring all that day’s tennis match-ups

But Keep in Mind:

  • All options (sports, casino, vegas) on one site, too cluttered

3. Betfred – Always Has Competitive Tennis Betting Odds

Betfred is a name that should need absolutely no introduction to anyone, even those who’ve never placed a bet in their lives due to the ubiquitousness of Betfred’s betting shops on UK high streets. Betfred is associated with horse racing, football, darts and snooker, but what is it like for tennis? The answer is very good (it wouldn’t be on our best tennis betting online sites list if not), and because it is such a big name, the competitiveness of its odds are second-to-none.

betfred tennis

This betting site behemoth is ideal for tennis betting. It has plenty of matches and plenty of markets per match, and full coverage of the annual tennis calendar. It also has plenty of live streaming, so why hasn’t Betfred made it to number one on our list? The only thing that lets Betfred down when it comes to tennis markets is quite simply the complete lack of tennis promotions, which is a real disappointment given the amount of bonuses available on other sports.

Bet Here Because:

  • Highly competitive tennis odds
  • Superb market coverage
  • Plenty of tennis live-streaming

But Keep in Mind:

  • Complete lack of tennis-related bonuses or promotions

4. BoyleSports – Pays Out Early if Your Player Goes One Set Up

This betting site has a tennis deal that we simply have not seen elsewhere – not even at bet365, who are the kings of the early payout. BoyleSports will pay out a bet as a winner as soon as your selected player goes one set ahead. This applies to singles and multiples on tennis. It doesn’t matter if your chosen player goes on to lose the match – you still get paid out. This sounds too good to be true, so what’s the catch?

boylesports tennis

Well, there is a catch, but it’s only a minor one. It only applies to bets on the ‘1 Set Ahead’ market, which has different odds than a straight ‘back a player to win’ market. We checked, and a player that was 9/4 to win was 11/10 to go one set up. This does make quite a difference, but we think it’s still a decent price, especially as a player has only one chance to win, but more than one chance to go a set up. BoyleSports tennis coverage is excellent, although a tad behind the sites above it on our best tennis sites list.

Bet Here Because:

  • Unique ‘1 Set Ahead’ betting market
  • Plenty of tennis coverage at the site
  • Lots of live-streaming

But Keep in Mind:

  • Not as many markets as other sites on our list

5. QuinnBet – Has a Decent Amount of Tennis Live-Streaming

QuinnBet, like BoyleSports, is a betting site that originated in Ireland. As tennis is not exactly an Irish sport (Willoughby Hamilton is the only Irish player to win Wimbledon, which he did in 1890), you might think coverage of tennis at QuinnBet is poor, but that does not turn out to be the case. Tennis does not get top billing at QuinnBet, but there are the usual number of matches to bet on and a decent number of markets per match.

quinnbet tennis

To prove that tennis is a global sport, QuinnBet is one of the few sites we have seen that has an A-Z of countries in which the sport is played. The extensive list covers Austria, Belgium, China, Mexico and Poland plus of course the main nations Australia, France, the UK and the US. Live betting on tennis at QuinnBet is excellent too, and although the site does have some live streaming, we have seen more live streaming at other sites on our list.

Bet Here Because:

  • True global coverage of tennis
  • Excellent tennis in-play betting section
  • Some live streaming of tennis

But Keep in Mind:

  • No tennis-related promotions

Best Tennis Betting Offers

What can you expect when you find the best tennis betting offers? Read on for details of some examples.

Welcome Offers

You may find a generous welcome offer such as a matched deposit or free bet specifically for tennis. Some offers usually occur during a top tennis event and in particular Wimbledon. Don’t worry if you can’t find a specific welcome offer for tennis as practically all matched deposits and free bets for new sign-ups can be used in tennis without any problems.

Odds Boosts

Many of the best UK betting sites now give out odds boosts on tennis on a daily basis. These are ‘better odds than normal’ on specific tennis matches. If you take up the offer and win, you will be paid out based on the boosted odds as opposed to the normal odds. Please note that with some odds boosts any money you win in excess of the normal odds will be paid out as bonus cash as opposed to real money you are free to withdraw as normal.

Retirement Guarantee

A few sites offer this deal. If the player you backed ‘retires hurt’ from the match, you will get your stake back – usually as a free bet – as opposed to your bet being voided and therefore becoming a losing one. Note that at some sites, a retirement guarantee means your stake is returned as cash, but your bet is settled as a winning bet, with your winnings paid as bonus cash or site credit.

Tennis Acca Boost

When it comes to tennis, any two or more tennis bets combined are considered an acca or accumulator. Bets available for any acca include match winner, first set winner, set betting and others on singles and doubles. With an acca boost, the winnings from winning accas are boosted by a percentage depending on the number of legs in your acca. For example, winnings from a double could be boosted by around 5%, while 14-folds or more could get you 70%.

Popular Tennis Betting Markets

So, what can you bet on when it comes to tennis bets? Tab your way through the table below to find out!

Tournament WinnerMatch WinnerSet WinnerTotal GamesSet BettingTotal SetsMatch HandicapFirst Set ScoreDouble ResultPlayer MarketsTotals

Plenty of people who bet on tennis bet on the winner of any individual tournament. This could be Wimbledon, the US Open or the French Open, or right down to individual ATP and WTA events. Tournaments include men’s singles, ladies, doubles, mixed doubles, boy, girls and seniors tournaments and so on.

A simple bet on the winner of any specific match. Every tennis match has to have a winner, as no ties are possible. Players keep on playing until one emerges victorious.

A single tennis match is divided into separate ‘matches’ called sets. The first player to six games wins the set. Sets have to be won by at least two games. If the set score is six all, then in most tournaments a tiebreak is played to determine the winner. You can bet on the winner of any individual set.

As well as the match or set score, you can bet on the game score as well. This is the total number of games played, usually by each player, over the course of the match. Note that due to a quirk of tennis scoring, the match winner may win fewer games than the loser, for example, if the score is 7-5, 0-6, 7-5.

This is similar to betting on the set winner but with an added complication … you will be betting on the set score, too. Depending on the tournament, the set score is the best of three or five sets, so set scores can be 2-0 or 2-1 for three sets, or 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2 for five sets.

This is identical in style to total games, except that you are betting on the total number of sets that will be played during a match. Again, this can be between two and five sets, depending on the number of sets that are to be played.

This is a handicap that is applied to the ‘number of games’ played. For example, if odds are offered on a player handicap of -3.5, then 3.5 will be subtracted from the number of games won by that player if you back them. So, if the final game ‘score’ is 16-13 to the player you placed your wager on, your bet would lose as the handicap-adjusted score is 12.5-13.

Most bets in tennis that do not apply to the entire match usually apply to the first set, including the first set score (including the winner of the set). Bets such as total games, first point winner, first double fault and first ace usually apply to the first set too.

This bet really is the combination of any two markets for a specific competitor, such as winning the first set and the match which is the most common. Others include most aces and match winners, or most double faults and to fail to win a set.

As tennis scoring is complicated, there is a range of individual player markets where you can place a bet on a specific aspect of a player’s performance. These could include winning the first point/game/set, winning after being behind, winning without losing a set/double faulting/making an unforced error and so on.

Tennis is also a sport of numbers and statistics, as each ball played has a specific outcome that determines it to be a point, and points add up to create scores for games, sets, matches and so on. You can therefore bet on numerous totals, such as the total number of aces, double faults, unforced errors, tiebreak points and so on.

What We Expect from the Best Tennis Bookmakers

We picked out our ten best UK bookmakers from the dozens available to punters in the UK, and the question you may be asking is how did we come up with that list?

When we review betting sites with a particular sport in mind, we look specifically for the amount of coverage for that sport. For example, with tennis, we look for coverage that goes far beyond the majors, and even far beyond ATP and WTA tour events. Tennis is a global, all-year-round sport so we expect the betting options available at any site for tennis to reflect that.

We also look at the options per match in tennis. Tennis has a great deal of potential for betting because of the nature of the game, and the way that matches are scored. We look for sites that have as many individual markets as possible.

Because of the length of tennis matches, tennis also holds a lot of potential for live betting, as the state of any individual game is constantly in flux. We check out any site’s in-play betting options for tennis, including cashing out.

We also check the site’s all-round suitability as a top online bookmaker, including all-round markets, bonuses & promotions, apps, payment methods and support. Check out How We Rank Gambling Sites for further details.

Important Tennis Betting Opportunities

Now that you know how to bet on tennis, you might be asking what you can bet on. Tennis does have a ‘season’ just like most sports. However, it’s one that seems to be all-year-round! Here are the most important tennis betting opportunities outlined for you.

Australian Open

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The Australian Open is a hard-court tennis tournament that is the first of the four tennis majors to be played each year. Since 1972 the tournament has been held annually at Melbourne Park. It has men’s, women’s and mixed competitions. It is usually held in January and has been running since 1924. The players with the most singles title wins are Novak Djokovic (10) and Margaret Court (11).

French Open

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The French Open, or Roland-Garros as it is also known, is a clay court tournament that’s held in May each year and is the second of tennis’s four majors. It has been held at the Stade Roland Garros since 1928, although the first French Open was held in 1891. It features men’s women’s and mixed competitions. Rafael Nadel has won the most men’s singles with 14, and Chris Evert the most ladies with seven.

Wimbledon

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The Wimbledon Championships is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, first being played in 1877. It has always been played at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, although the club changed venue in 1922. It is the only Grand Slam tennis tournament that is still played on grass, and takes place in June and July each year. Roger Federer has won the most men’s singles titles with eight, and Martina Navratilova the most women’s with nine.

US Open

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The final major of each calendar year is the US Open which since 1978 has taken place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre in Queens, New York. It is a hard-court tennis tournament and usually takes place in August each year. It was played on grass from its inception in 1881 until the move to clay in 1975 then hard courts in 1978. Bill Tilden of the US has the most men’s singles wins with seven, and Molla Mallory of Norway (later the US) the most women’s singles wins with eight.

ATP Tour

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) is the only global top-tier tennis tour for male players. As of 2024, it consists of the four majors, the ATP Finals, the Next Generation ATP Finals, 9 ATP Master 1000, 13 ATP 500 and 38 ATP 250 tournaments as well as the United Cup, the David Cup, the Olympics (when played) and tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour and ITF’s Men’s Circuits.

Players in singles and doubles pick up ranking points for playing in ATP Tour matches and at the end of the season, the top eight singles and doubles players compete in the ATP finals, which are currently played at the Palasport Olimpico in Turin, Italy.

WTA Tour

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) is the elite global tennis tour for female players. It was created by leading tennis player Billie Jean King in 1973. It consists mainly of the four majors, the WTA finals, 10 WTA 1000 tournaments, 17 WTA 500 tournaments and 23 WTA 250 tournaments.

Just like the ATP, players are awarded ranking points depending on their performances and the ‘tier’ of each tournament. The top eight singles players and the top eight doubles partnerships compete each year in the WTA Finals which since 2024 have been played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

ITF World Tennis Tour

The Best Tennis Betting Sites in the UK in [cur_month] [cur_year]The ITF (International Tennis Federation) is the world governing body of nearly all forms of tennis. It partners with the ITF and WTA to govern professional tennis across the globe. It organises team competitions such as the Davis Cup for men and the Billie Jean Cup for women, plus competitions for the Olympics and Paralympics.

The ITF World Tennis Tour acts as a bridge between junior tours and the elite tours governed by the ATP and WTA. The men’s and women’s tours comprise hundreds of tournaments all over the world. ITF tour points are included within ATP and WTA rankings which allows up-and-coming pros to move onto the ATP Challenger Tour, the ATP Tour and the Grand Slams.

In Play Tennis Betting and Live Streaming

Tennis is a very stop-start sport like American football, cricket or baseball and is not free-flowing like football, basketball or rugby union. Because it is a 1v1 and highly physical sport, breaks between games, sets and even within tiebreaks are frequent. This means it is a very effective sport for live betting as you have plenty of opportunities to get your bets on during the frequent breaks in play.

Fastest Tennis Serves

Tennis can ebb and flow, with players losing or gaining their rhythm during play and experiencing long winning streaks or prolonged spells where they suddenly cannot win a point to save their lives. In addition, some players start strong and then fade, while others get better as the match progresses. This again makes this sport ideal for live or tennis in-play betting.

There is usually plenty of live streaming of ATP, WTA and ITF matches at UK sports betting sites, as such events are not usually televised unless they are top-tier tournaments or major qualifiers. Grand Slam tournaments like Wimbledon and the US Open are not streamed at sports betting sites due to high-tier media deals.

Tennis Betting Sites on Mobile Devices

Most major UK tennis betting sites can provide you with apps for betting, or you can use their sites on any iOS and Android phone or tablet via a mobile browser. It is very easy to bet on tennis using a phone or tablet and an app (or site), as tennis is one of the most popular sports in the UK for betting. This means you won’t be hunting around for the latest tennis odds as they will be presented – and live betting tennis odds in particular – on the site’s home page.

Live streaming, where available, can be viewed via tennis live betting apps, too. Plus, you get the full functionality of a tennis bet site by using an app, including the easy placement of wagers and the depositing and withdrawal of funds. You can also claim tennis betting offers and contact support should the need arise.

Tennis Betting Tips to Improve Your Chances

We’ve told you everything you need to know about how to bet on tennis, and what you can bet on. Now, we’re going to go one step further – we’ve asked our tennis betting experts to share some tennis betting wisdom with you, and here is what they have come up with.

  1. Match the Player to the Surface

Unlike most other sports, tennis is played on different surfaces, mainly grass, clay and hard courts. Grass courts are quick with a low bounce which leads to an advantage for serve and volley players such as Roger Federer, although modern racquet design is thwarting such dominance. On clay, the ball slows and bounces high which suits tactical players such as Rafael Nadal. Hard courts are great levellers which can see power players competing equally with tactical ones. When betting on any tennis tournament, make sure you understand the importance of the surface.
  2. Best of Three or Best of Five?

Traditionally, men’s tennis is the best of five sets, and women’s tennis is the best of three. However, that tradition is becoming less and less commonplace. Only the men’s Grand Slams are the best of five – this is to prevent tiredness over the course of the season. In addition, tiebreaks were introduced to final sets in 2019 to prevent excessively long matches (such as John Isner v Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon in 2010, final score 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(7), 7-6(3), 70-68). However, you need to bear in mind the potential length of a match when betting, as longer matches favour younger, fitter players than those well into their 30s.
  3. Analyse Past Match-Ups

Whenever you are thinking of betting on a specific tennis matchup, look at the past record between the two players. Is one dominant over the other? If so, it’s probably because some strong element of the dominant players’ game dominates a weak aspect of the other player, no matter how they usually fare. A good example of this is Rafael Nadal’s 23-10 record over Roger Federer between 2004 and 2014. Nadal’s ability to spin a crosscourt forehand onto Federer’s weaker backhand simply made life impossible for the Swiss maestro despite his record against all other players. You can sometimes get very good odds when a player dominates a specific match-up, so look out for them.

Where to Find the Best Tennis Betting Odds

All the leading tennis betting sites make sure they keep a keen eye on their odds. The good news is that means you do not necessarily have to hunt around for the best odds as the odds at all the best tennis betting site candidates are relatively competitive, negating the need for you to undertake an endless hunt for the best odds. Also, because such tennis betting odds are relatively equivalent, you can stick to your favourite sites without worrying about the returns you are getting.

Here, as an example of odds, are the odds for the 2025 Australian Open from our best tennis betting site selection, bet365 (correct as at 16:50, 11/09/24).

2025 Australian Open
Men’s Singles Women’s Singles
Novak Djokovic 6/4 Carlos Alcaraz 5/2 Aryna Sabalenka 12/5 Iga Swiatek 7/2
Jannik Sinner 5/2 Daniil Medvedev 7/1 Coco Gauff 9/2 Elena Rybakina 7/1
Rafael Nadal 16/1 Alexander Zverev 12/1 Naomi Osaka 16/1 Mirra Andreeva 16/1
Taylor Fritz 40/1 Casper Rudd 40/1 Qinwen Zheng 16/1 Jessica Pegula 20/1
