Former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has placed a $10,000 bet on Anthony Joshua to stop Daniel Dubois in the later rounds.

Israel Adesanya Places Huge Bet On Anthony Joshua

The Last Stylebender has decided to support Anthony Joshua in the major heavyweight bout between AJ and Daniel Dubois on Saturday 21st September.

Joshua will be looking to become a three-time world champion at Wembley Stadium, with the chance of setting up a fight against Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk to unify the belts.

However, Dubois has been on a strong run of form in recent times, beating Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic in impressive fashion.

Adesanya has opted for Joshua, despite the English boxer knocking out Francis Ngannou in his last bout – with Ngannou being a close friend of Adesanya’s,

Wembley Stadium is set to be sold out for the anticipated bout, selling over 96,000 tickets and it is expected to be a one sided support for Anthony Joshua.

The former UFC middleweight champion tweeted showing his bet and claimed this fight has got ‘beef’ and used the betting site Stake to place $10,000 on Anthony Joshua to win in rounds 10, 11 or 12.

If Adesanya is correct with his gamble then he will receive $50,000 in return, however, AJ has not won rounds 10, 11 or 12 since his KO victory over Carlos Takam in round 10 (October 2017).

Should Johsua lose to Dubois then his run towards reclaiming heavyweight gold could be all-but over, as he approaches his 35th birthday.

This bet from Adesanya may come as surprise due to his relationship with Ngannou, however, the UFC star has met Joshua on a few occasions with both having Nigerian connections.

Adesnya has been on a poor run of form in recent years, losing to Sean Strickland and Dricuss Du Plessis, with many questioning if he will return to the Octagon.
