Coming in at joint-10th place is Scottish tennis legend Andy Murray, who boasts two million followers on his Instagram account @andymurray.

A former world No. 1, Murray has won three Grand Slam singles titles, two at Wimbledon (2013 & 2016) and one at the US Open (2012), as well as 46 ATP Tour singles titles, which includes 14 Masters 1000 events and two gold medals representing Great Britain at the Olympics (2012 & 2016). He is also fourth in the all-time earnings list within the sport, having earned just shy of £50m in prize money throughout his career.

Nowadays, Murray finds himself down in 129th in the ATP singles rankings, and is expected to retire after the Paris Olympics in the summer. He is aiming to go out in style though, as he is set to compete in the singles competition, vying for a third Olympic gold medal, as well as in the doubles competition alongside Dan Evans.

Level with Andy Murray in 10th, is former world singles and doubles No. 1 Venus Williams, who has also amassed two million followers on her Instagram account @venuswilliams.

Venus, the older sister of the now-retired Serena Williams, is a seven-time singles Grand Slam winner, winning an incredible five at Wimbledon (2000, 2001, 2005, 2007 & 2008), as well as two at the US Open (2000 & 2001). Williams has also won four Olympic gold medals representing the United States, and has won a total of 73 titles across singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.

Now aged 44, Williams has struggled with injuries over the last couple of years, and was most recently eliminated in the first round at the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open, seeing her world ranking drop to No. 512, however she has given no hints as to whether she is retiring anytime soon.

German Alexander Zverev is the ninth most followed active tennis player on Instagram, with his account @alexzverev123 currently sitting at 2.1 million followers.

Zverev is currently ranked fourth in the ATP world rankings, with his previous high being second back in June 2022. His career highlights include a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, two ATP Finals titles (2018 & 2021), 22 ATP Tour singles titles, two ATP Tour doubles titles, and runners-up medals at the US Open (2020) and the French Open (2024).

The 27-year-old ranks fifth in the men’s all-time earnings leaderboard, having earned over £33m throughout his career thus far, and most recently contested at Wimbledon, where he was defeated in the fourth round by Taylor Fritz.

Formerly ranked fifth in the WTA world rankings, Bouchard now finds herself down in 522nd despite only being 30-years-old. In recent seasons, Bouchard has struggled with injuries, and has even spent time away from the sport, however the 2014 Wimbledon finalist has stated that she plans to remain active on the professional tours.

7. Emma Raducanu (2.5 million)

21-year-old British tennis star Emma Raducanu is the seventh most followed active tennis player on Instagram, with her @emmaraducanu account standing at 2.5 million followers at the time of writing.

Raducanu rose to stardom in 2021 when she became the first qualifier in the Open Era to win a major singles title, defeating Stefanie Vögele, Zhang Shuai, Sara Sorribes Tormo, Shelby Rogers, Belinda Bencic, Maria Sakkari, and Leylah Fernandez in the main draw to win the US Open.

As a result of winning the US Open, Raducanu rose to 23rd in the WTA rankings, a jump of 322 places, before peaking at 10th place in July 2022, however after a couple of injury-stricken years, she now finds herself down in 94th. Her most recent showing at Wimbledon saw her advance through the first three rounds of the competition before being eliminated in the last-16 by Lulu Sun.

6. Jannik Sinner (2.7 million)

Current ATP world singles No. 1 Jannik Sinner comes in at sixth place on SportsCasting‘s list of the most followed active tennis players on Instagram. The 22-year-old’s account, @janniksin, boasts 2.7 million followers as of July 2024.

Sinner, now the highest-ranked Italian singles player in history, has won 14 ATP Tour singles titles thus far, including the 2024 Australian Open, his first Grand Slam title, as well as two Masters 1000 titles.

The youngster has enjoyed a stellar year on courts around the globe, clinching the Australian Open in January to kick things off, but has since followed that up with titles at the Rotterdam Open, Miami Open, and the Halle Open, but was recently eliminated in the quarter-final by Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon.

5. Naomi Osaka (2.8 million)

Four time Grand Slam singles title winner, and former WTA world No.1 Naomi Osaka is the fifth most followed tennis player on Instagram with 2.8 million followers on her @naomiosaka account.

Osaka has won the Australian Open on two occasions (2019 & 2021), as well as two US Opens (2018 & 2020), however she retired from the French Open in mid-2021 as she struggled with depression and other issues, and closed down her season after an early elimination at the US Open.

After returning in 2022, Osaka took another hiatus from the sport in 2023, this time due to the birth of her daughter Shai, whom she welcomed to the world alongside her American rapper boyfriend Cordae. She has since returned to the court, and is ranked at 102nd in the WTA world rankings.

4. Nick Kyrgios (4.2 million)

A favourite among sports fans for his feisty and entertaining personality, 29-year-old Nick Kyrgios comes in at number four on our list. His account, @k1ngkyrg1os, currently has 4.2 million followers, a 1.4 million jump on fifth place Osaka.

The Australian has been ranked as high as world No. 13 by the ATP, and has seven ATP Tour singles titles to his name. He also reached a major final at Wimbledon in 2022, and has won one major doubles title at the 2022 Australian Open alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Unfortunately for Kyrgios though, he faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a wrist injury that required innovative surgery to reduce the pain, although he has stated that he hopes to return to playing doubles at some point in 2024.

3. Carlos Alcaraz (5.8 million)

Recent Wimbledon champion, and young Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz is the third most followed tennis player on Instagram, with his @carlitosalcarazz account sitting at a lofty 5.7 million followers.

The 21-year-old gained more than 500,000 followers on his account throughout the most recent Wimbledon winning week, in what was a back-to-back success at the tournament after winning it for the first time back in 2023. Alcaraz now has four Grand Slam titles to his name, having also won the US Open in 2022, and the French Open in 2024.

Currently the world No. 3, the youngster has been tipped by many to become one of the all time greats in the sport, potentially following in the footsteps of the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer.

2. Novak Djokovic (14.8 million)

The legendary Novak Djokovic is second place on our list of the most followed tennis players on Instagram thanks to the 14.8 million followers on his account, @djokernole.

Djokovic has pretty much done it all within the sport, having been ranked No. 1 for a record 428 weeks by the ATP, along with a record 24 Grand Slam titles, including a record 10 Australian Open wins, four French Open titles, seven Wimbledon successes, and four US Open triumphs.

In total, he has won 98 singles titles throughout his career, earning him top spot in the all-time list of career earnings with a total that surpasses a stunning £140 million, and he is currently ranked second in the ATP world rankings.

1. Rafael Nadal (21.3 million)

Spanish tennis icon Rafael Nadal clinches top spot, as he has amassed an incredible 21.3 million followers on his @rafaelnadal Instagram account.

Like Djokovic, Nadal has won pretty much all there is to win within the sport, and led men’s singles tennis alongside the Serbian and Roger Federer, dubbed the ‘Big Three’, for over a decade.

The 38-year-old has been ranked world No. 1 by the ATP for a total of 209 weeks, and has 22 Grand Slam singles titles to his name. This includes a record 14 French Open titles, as well as two Australian Open titles, two Wimbledon titles, and four US Open titles. He also has two Olympic gold medals, one in the singles tournament in 2008, and one in the doubles tournament in 2016.

In 2023 though, Nadal suffered a hip injury which not only saw him drop out of the top 10 for the first time since April 2005, but also out of the top 100 for the first time since 2003. He has since returned to the ATP Tour, and is currently ranked 224th in the world at the time of writing.
