Liverpool Bournemouth team news

With Mo Salah out of contract in 2025, Liverpool fans are coming to terms that their star man’s tenure at Anfield might be coming to a close, with the big-spending Saudi teams waiting in the wings. But the good news is, Liverpool already have a player at the top of their ‘Mo Salah transfer replacement’ list.

Liverpool Have A Number Of Star Names Out Of Contract In 2025

Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool’s talisman football player over the last seven years – Mo Salah – all have their contracts coming to an end in 2025.

However, whereas Liverpool might be able to entice Van Dijk and Trent into staying, the rumours that have been flying around for a while now suggest this will be Mo Salah’s last season with the Reds.

At 32 years-old – and will be 33 next summer – then the talk has been for a mega-bucks move to one of the Saudi teams – with Salah expected to cash-in – just like former Brentford striker Ivan Toney recently has, being on a reported £400k a week (tax free).

So, if Mo Salah does go – who will be Liverpool’s main target to replace the Egyptian forward?

Of course, Salah’s shoes are going to be hard for any player to fill and with one of the big names rumoured to take over from Salah – Kylian Mbappe having joined Real Madrid – this ship has sailed.

Mo Salah Transfer Replacement Revealed As Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo

If Mo Salah goes, Liverpool could turn to another rising star who has ‘MB’ as the first two letters of his surname – Brentford man Bryan Mbeumo.

It’s reported that 25 year-old Mbeumo will be available in the summer of 2025 and Brentford are expected to ask for up to £40m+ for their star man.

However, this price could rise further if Mbeumo continues to impress.

The Cameroon international, who joined Brentford in 2019 from French side Troyes, has already fired in three Premier League goals this season for the Bees.

In total, Mbeumo has played over 200 times for the London side – scoring 53 times and racking up 43 assists (and counting).

Next summer (2025), Mbeumo will also only have a year left on his current Brentford contract – making it easier for Liverpool to tempt him away.
