Carl Froch Continues Criticism Of Anthony Joshua, Playing Down AJ’s Achievements Should He Become A Three-Time World Heavyweight Champion
Former three-time world super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has further criticised Anthony Joshua on his YouTube channel, Froch On Fighting. ‘The Cobra’ has recently downplayed AJ’s achievements once again after their war of words over the past few months.
Carl Froch SLAMS Anthony Joshua’s Achievements
Although there are several photographs of Anthony Joshua and Carl Froch together on the internet looking happy and friendly, they certainly aren’t the best of pals anymore.
Froch has been fairly critical of Joshua of late, including sharing fierce messages between him and ‘AJ’ on social media, as well as talking about Joshua on his YouTube channel Froch On Fighting.
Most recently, ‘The Cobra’ has commented on the upcoming Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight on September 21st at Wembley Stadium.
Froch hasn’t been quite as direct in his criticism of ‘AJ’ this time around, but he is certainly playing down Joshua’s achievements as a heavyweight world champion.
Simon Jordan, the controversial talkSPORT pundit, has said that should ‘AJ’ beat Dubois and become a three-time world heavyweight champion, he would etch his name into boxing folklore alongside the likes of Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis.
‘You can’t say that winning a vacant title that’s been stripped off the champ makes you a three-time world champion’ – Froch
The Nottingham man has chipped in with his own opinions, completely disagreeing with Jordan and what he said regarding Joshua putting his name into the history books should he win at Wembley Stadium on Saturday week.
“He [Simon Jordan] did say if AJ beats Dubois and becomes a three-time world champion, he’s in the realm of immortality. Sorry, Simon, but that’s bulls***.
“You can’t say that winning a vacant title that’s been stripped off the champ makes you a three-time world champion,” ‘The Cobra’ said on his YouTube channel ‘Froch on Fighting‘.
“That’s the problem I’ve got with this title being fragmented or being vacated or taken off the actual real champ, which is Usyk. That’s my main problem.
If AJ beats Dubois, he’s going to hold his hand up with that IBF belt and say, ‘I am now a three-time heavyweight world champion’. And everybody with a brain is going to be looking, saying, ‘hang on a minute, didn’t you lose to the guy [twice] that just took that belt off?’ Boxing shouldn’t be like that,” concluded Froch.
