Ben Shalom Outlines Chris Eubank Jr Plans
It’s been over a year now since boxing fans last saw Chris Eubank Jr in action. ‘Next Gen’ was last seen in his rematch against Liam Smith, when writing the wrongs of the first fight by knocking ‘Beefy’ out in Round 10 of their middleweight rematch at the Manchester Arena last September.
Now Eubank is back, as he features on the huge Riyadh Season card in Saudi Arabia on October 12. The Englishman is set to face Kamil Szeremeta and is a quite substantial favourite with the best UK betting sites, but has his sights set on far bigger fights in 2025 and beyond. This includes both world title bouts and the fights for the best money against the biggest names.
Eubank Jr has recently teamed up with Ben Shalom and Boxxer, with the young promoter revealing in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT recently his plans for his new fighter, Chris Eubank Jr.

“Unless he’s going to get one of the biggest names, whether that is Canelo, whether it is [Terence] Crawford, whether it is Ben [Whittaker], whether it is Billy Joe Saunders or Conor Benn, he has to fight for a world title in his next fight and I completely agree,” Shalom said.
“We will do absolutely everything to make that happen so unless its one of the big names where it is ridiculous money, because that’s what comes with Chris Eubank Jr, then it has to be a world title,” he added.
World Titles Next For Chris Eubank Jr?
It remains to be seen who Eubank Jr will fight next after the October 12th bout, but wanting to win a world title at middleweight seems his number one priority. The current champions at 160-pounds are Erislandy Lara (WBA), Carlos Adames (WBC) and Janibek Alimkhanuly (WBO & IBF).
Shalom has expressed his interest in getting his man a shot at one of the 160-pound kings next, saying that he has reached out to at least one of the champions already:
“You would expect those titles to become vacant but we’ve also been in talks with Erislandy Lara, which is a fight we fancy as well.
“Chris has said to me ‘I want a world title’, yes he has got his names but he wants a world title. Was it going to be his first fight back after a year out? No.
“So I’m saying now if it’s not one of the big names then it has to be a world title next,” said Shalom.
Time will tell what Chris Eubank Jr’s plans are for the future with boxing, but it seems it will be nothing but big fights from hear on out after October 12th.
