Paul Scholes didn’t hold back when he was quizzed on who he thought was Manchester United’s worst ever signing. The Red Devils legend was quick to name former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.

Scholes brutally claimed that the Australian was ‘unprofessional’ and that he ‘couldn’t even kick a football’ in a damning assessment.

Bosnich was one of a number of goalkeepers who were drafted in to try and fill the void left by Peter Schmeichel. His spell at Old Trafford was certainly memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Even after 25 years, Scholes had clearly not forgotten Bosnich’s ill-fated spell in Manchester. He made just 23 league appearances in two years.

Paul Scholes Claims Mark Bosnich Was ‘Unprofessional’

I thought he was a good keeper at Villa, but he came to us, he was so unprofessional. Honestly, it was ridiculous. In shooting practice, you normally have like 15/20 shots, after three shots he’s knackered and I never realised, he couldn’t kick a football. Honestly, I’d never seen anything like it,” Scholes explained.

We played Everton in the first game of the season and none of us picked up on it, but he couldn’t even reach the halfway line. There was no wind. It was a perfect day,” he concluded.

Naturally, there will be many Manchester United fans who would agree with Scholes’ choice words. Even legendary former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Scot concluded that Bosnich was in fact ‘terribly unprofessional’ when his autobiography was released in 2013. Undoubtedly, others in the United squad at the time would certainly agree.

Therefore, naming Bosnich as United’s worst ever signing was a no-brainer for Scholes. However, he did toy with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Antony, and Massimo Taibi before settling for the Aussie.
