Eze Crystal Palace

As we head into Gameweek 3 of the Premier League, FPL General provides some tips to consider, including why you should keep Eberechi Eze.

I’m FPL General and I’ve teamed up with SportsCasting to provide you some FPL tips for you to consider for Gameweek 3.

To provide a brief overview of my experience, I have played FPL for over 20 seasons and have achieved three top 500 finishes in that time.

With that being said, let’s dive straight into my tips for Gameweek 3.

FPL General’s Gameweek 3 Tips

Hold onto Eze

My primary FPL tip for the week is if you own Eberechi Eze, keep him. Over 500,000 people have gone with the trend of selling the Crystal Palace man, but I think it’s worth considering holding onto him.

Despite Crystal Palace’s slow start and back-to-back blanks for their starman, Eze’s underlying stats and general performances have been good, suggesting that returns are surely coming.

Eze has been unfortunate in the sense that he has had returns ruled out by VAR. Plus, no player has registered more shots than the Palace man. The goals will come.

Consider Morgan Rogers

If you’re looking to strengthen your midfield, Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa is a great option right now.

The Aston Villa man has looked fantastic in the first two games and even if it hasn’t quite translated into his underlying stats you’d want to, his positioning pretty much has him as a support striker and he has played all 180 minutes.

Plus, Villa have a nice run of fixtures coming up, with Leicester, Everton, Wolves and Ipswich to play in the next four.

Now that he appears to be a starter in Unai Emery’s side, Rogers’ minutes, attacking positioning, and upcoming fixtures are all too good for a 5.1m midfielder not to jump at the opportunity.

Stick with Haaland

While there are several strong captaincy choices this week, Erling Haaland’s consistent goal-scoring form makes him the obvious but sensible option, if you own him.

Haaland is already on four goals for the season following his hat-trick against Ipswich in Gameweek 2. Lat weekend, Haaland was presented with three big chances and was joint first for goal attempts in the gameweek with seven.

His ability to find the net regularly gives him a significant advantage over other players. If you own him, it’s generally a good strategy to stick with him as your captain.
