Ivan Toney has left Brentford fans in uproar as the Englishman finally agrees a move away from the Bees – joining Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli for £33.6 million.

Ivan Toney Set For Saudi Pro League Move

The England international has been rumoured to leave Brentford throughout this summer transfer window and attracted interest from a host of elite sides.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United were all linked with the 28-year-old striker, but failed to meet Brentford’s asking price.

It is reported that Toney has agreed personal terms with the Saudi Pro League side and will complete his medical before finalising the move abroad.

The deal was made during the late hours of Thursday 29th August, as the Brentford striker was involved in several meetings at the clubs training ground – Jersey Road.

During his time at Brentford, Toney  has scored 72 goals in 141 games and was awarded the captaincy by Thomas Frank.

His spell at the Gtech Community Stadium came with its controversies, which included an eight-month ban and £50,000 fine for committing over 230 breaches of FA betting rules.

However, despite this the Brentford star was selected in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 England squad, where he made three appearances and contributed with a match-winning assist in the round of 16.

Brentford fans have been aware of Toney’s desire to move elsewhere for the last few transfer windows, but some have still shown their frustration online.

Fans React To Ivan Toney Saudi Move

One fan labelled the move as ‘depressing’ and claims the prolific striker has essentially ‘thrown away his England career’ by moving to Al Ahli.

Another user on X said that Toney has ‘wasted’ his career and beleives the move has been fuelled by money and is the wrong time to leave for a striker in his ‘peak’.

Another fan has shown their disapproval towards Ivan Toney’s move to Saudi Arabia, describing the decision as an early retirement for the Englishman.
