Mo Salah has admitted that he is not thinking about his contract situation at Liverpool. The Egyptian King insists he wants to enjoy the 2024/25 season before making a decision on his future in the summer.

Salah’s current deal runs out on June 30 next year. Previous rumours suggested a move to Saudi Arabia may materialise but the 32-year-old won’t be forced into making a commitment at the moment.

Consequently, some Reds fans will be somewhat uneasy with Salah failing to declare his long-term future lies on Merseyside. Even more so with Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also in the last year of their current deals.

Naturally, supporters will begin to become concerned that at least one of the star trio will move on. Real Madrid is a likely destination for Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk could be swayed by the riches in Saudi Arabia.

Mo Salah’s Contract Has Less Than A Year To Run

The Mo Salah contract situation at Liverpool has come at a bad time for new manager Arne Slot. The Reds boss has made a solid start to life on Merseyside and he won’t want Salah to become a distraction.

In the Premier League, the club have won both games and are yet to concede. Unsurprisingly, Salah has been directly involved in three of the four goals scored.

On his contract situation, Salah explained: “Before the season and I was just like, ‘I’ve got one year left so let’s just enjoy it and don’t think about the contract now’.

“I don’t want to think about next year. I don’t want to think about the future. Just ‘OK, let’s enjoy the last year [of my contract] and we’ll see’.”

“The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here,” he added.

Salah is expected to start at Old Trafford on Sunday (September 1) against Manchester United. He has scored 14 goals and provided three assists against the Red Devils since 2019.
