The British Masters golf event is this week’s big European Tour competition with England’s Tyrrell Hatton, who is now on the LIV Tour, one of the big fancies to lead home the field.

LIV Golfer Tyrrell Hatton The One To Beat In 2024 British Masters

Some of the best golfers in the world will head to the Belfry this week for the British Masters Golf 2024 tournament and many experts are predicting England’s Tyrrell Hatton as the one to beat.

Hatton, who defected over to the lucrative LIV Golf Tour earlier this year, is back on the European Tour this week as he goes in search of the landing some of the £2.6m prize fund.

It was reported that Hatton bagged close to £50m when moving over to the LIV tour and since he’s joined has one win to his name, which came in the 2024 LIV Golf Nashville at the end of June. Winning by six shots with a score of -19.

Ahead of the British Masters, Hatton is being tipped as one of the main fancies as he tries to win the Nick Faldo-hosted event for the first time.

Hatton, who has six European Tour wins to his name, has also finished a tied 9th in this year’s Masters at Augusta but failed to make the cut in the Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club earlier this year.

2023 British Masters Golf Champion Daniel Hillier Eyes Repeat Win

12 months ago, we saw Daniel Hillier record his biggest career win, as the Aussie fired in a final day -6 to win the overall event with -10, which was two shots clear of the runner-up Gunner Wiebe from the US.

Hillier will be back for more in the British Masters 2024 as he looks to become the first back-to-back winner since another Australian Greg Norman in 1981 and 1982.

The 2024 British Masters Marks The Start Of The 2025 Ryder Cup Qualification Process

Despite never winning the British Masters, European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald will also have one eye on this year’s event as it also marks the start of the 2025 Ryder Cup qualification process.

With Hatton now on the LIV tour, which doesn’t count towards Ryder Cup points, Luke Donald will welcome his participation in the event having been a big player for the European side in 2023.
