The Burnley announcement video catalogue added another impressive string to its bow on Wednesday afternoon (August 28) after the Championship club brilliantly confirmed the signing of Hannibal Mejbri.

Using Oasis’ official video for 1995 hit Wonderwall as inspiration, the Clarets delighted football Twitter when they confirmed their £9m acquisition of the Tunisian international.

Many were quick to label the video as the ‘best announcement video of all-time’ after the Gallagher brothers confirmed they will be bringing the band back together again next year.

The social media team behind Burnley’s official X (formerly Twitter) account has won over the affections of football fans from across the world once again with their latest upload.

Burnley Announcement Video: ‘You’re My Hannibal’

As opposed to the lyrics: ‘You’re my Wonderwall’, the admin of the Lancashire club simply changed them to: ‘You’re my Hannibal’ to brilliant affect.

Granted, the change was fairly obvious yet slick and stylish at the same time. Hannibal Mejbri moves to Scott Parker’s side in what many will hope is the Masterplan for yet another promotion back to the top-flight.

Clarets supporters will likely be feeling Supersonic after the deal was announced with the summer transfer window drawing to a close.

Some Might Say that Manchester United will have the last laugh, though. The Red Devils have inserted a 50% sell-on clause as well as a buy-back option for Mejbri.

For now, the Burnley admin deserves all the praise and plaudits. The caption for the announcement video simply stated ‘Because Mejbri.’

At the time of writing, the Burnley announcement video has racked up 1.4m views, 653 comments, 4,800 retweets with 24,000 likes. 1,000 different accounts have gone on to bookmark the post.

This weekend, Mejbri is in line for his first league start against fierce Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor. Scroll down to see the best comments.
