The Manchester Utd vs Liverpool referee has been announced as Anthony Taylor. A decision of which has left supporters of the Merseysiders absolutely furious.

Many took to X, formerly Twitter to vent their frustrations as Taylor is from Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. Although, it is understood he is a fan of non-league Altrincham.

Nonetheless, it didn’t stop followers of Arne Slot’s side voice their frustrations at the Premier League‘s appointment of the 45-year-old official.

Sunday’s clash at Old Trafford will see Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn employed as Taylor’s assistants. Sam Barrott will act as fourth official with VAR duties falling to John Brooks and Harry Lennard (assistant).

Paul Pogba was shown red against Liverpool in the 5-0 drubbing in 2021 with Casemiro being the most recent. He was dismissed in a goalless draw against Southampton two seasons ago.
