FPL Salah Gameweek 11

Abdul Rehman (FPL Salah) has teamed up with SportsCasting to provide you with another round of FPL tips for Gameweek 11.

Every week FPL Salah will be providing you with insight and advice to gear you up, continuing with his Fantasy Premier League tips for Gameweek 11.

This is his 18th season playing FPL, and he’s finished in the top 1,000 four times, with 14 finishes in the top 50,000. He also writes weekly FPL articles for The Athletic and Fantasy Football Hub.

This week, FPL Salah will be presenting three captaincy options not named Mohamed Salah or Erling Haaland.

The two best options in the game have a decent fixture this week, but with how the fixtures in Gameweek 11 I think its a great opportunity to look outside of them.

If you are bored of captaining Haaland or Salah every week or are simply looking for a differential captain to help potentially shoot you up the ranks, then look no further.

FPL Gameweek 11 Tips: Captaincy Picks Other Than Salah or Haaland

Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) – Spurs

Fixture: Ipswich Town (H)

Tottenham have possibly their best fixture of the season in Gameweek 11 as they take on newly promoted Ipswich.

Ange Postecoglou’s team have been the most attacking side in the league so far, scoring 22 goals (first) with an xG of 20.38 (first).

Ipswich on the other hand have conceded the second most goals (21) and also have the worst xGC (22.8) in the league. Spurs should score a fair few here, on paper anyway.

Dominic Solanke rewarded his owners with a 16-point haul last week, courtesy of two goals and one assist. Solanke had failed to score in the previous three games, registering an xG of only 0.10.

However, over the season he had an xG of 3.6. Against Villa, he managed an xG of 1.66. This shows the importance of being patient with proven players, especially during good fixture runs, and not putting too much emphasis on a few games.

Solanke has a plum game this week and his fixture makes him a great captaincy pick. He is very likely to play 90 minutes and is the number 9 for a very attacking team.

The former Bournemouth forward is the joint favourite (53%) to score at any time in Gameweek 11.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) – Manchester United

Fixture: Leicester City (H)

Bruno Fernandes hasn’t had the best start to the season. He scored his first goal last gameweek and has two assists overall, with an xG of 3.8 and an xA of 1.8.

This isn’t ideal for a player of his quality, however his stats and past performances tell us that more attacking returns will come. Also, under new management we may well see a much improved Manchester United.

United have a great fixture this week as they welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford, who have conceded 18 goals (seventeenth) with an xGC of 19.3 (eighteenth). They are one of the worst defences in the league.

Bruno is nailed to start, will play 90 minutes in the majority of games, and is the first choice penalty taker as well as being on some set-pieces.

He has a lot of avenues to points and it’s more likely his output will increase now thanks to favourable fixtures and a new manager. The Portuguese is also at 36% to score at anytime in Gameweek 11.

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) – Brentford

Fixture: Bournemouth (H)

Bryan Mbeumo has been one of the best value picks with eight goals so far. He is already only one goal behind last season’s nine goals he scored for the whole term.

Brentford have a home game against Bournemouth in Gamweek 11 and Thomas Frank’s team will be favourites for this one.

The Bees are a good attacking side and always seem to find a way to score. They have netted 19 goals (fourth-most) with an xG of 16.51 (seventh), so the Cherries will do very well to keep them at bay.

Mbeumo is the talisman for his side, is one of the most nailed players in the league, and plays 90 minutes in most games. He is also on penalties. The Cameroonian is at a healthy 36% to score at any time and is likely to come out of this game with the most points.
