FPL Best Captains

FPL General is back for another round of Fantasy Premier League tips, with this week’s focus centred around the best captain picks for the upcoming gameweeks as we head into Gameweek 10.

Selecting a captain for your Fantasy Premier League team is often a head scratcher, and the captaincy selection usually influences which premium options you opt to have within your squad.

The likes of Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka are typically the most-captained on any given gameweek, but deciding between them, and the other options available throughout FPL, can be a tough task.

With that in mind, this week, FPL General is outlining his best captain picks between Gameweek 10 and Gameweek 14 to help you decide which premium players to own, as well as when you should own them.

FPL General’s Best Captain Picks For Upcoming Gameweeks

  • Gameweek 10: Mohamed Salah vs Brighton (H)
  • Gameweek 11: Heung-min Son vs Ipswich (H)
  • Gameweek 12: Mohamed Salah vs Southampton (A) or Cole Palmer vs Leicester (A)
  • Gameweek 13: Cole Palmer vs Aston Villa (H)
  • Gameweek 14: Erling Haaland vs Nottingham Forest (H) or Cole Palmer vs Southampton (A)

So what does this tell us ahead of Gameweek 10? Well, Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka and Ollie Watkins are not must-haves for the next few weeks, with other premium players potentially being better options for your squads and for your captaincy selections.

Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer have to be priorities in the coming weeks, with favourable fixtures such as Brighton (H) and Southampton (A) for Liverpool, and Leicester (A) and Southampton (A) for Chelsea providing ample opportunity for the pair to come up with attacking returns, as they so often do.

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son could also be worth a punt in Gameweek 11, with his side hosting newly promoted Ipswich in North London. This is, of course, if the South Korean is fully fit, as he has missed each of Spurs’ last three matches across all competitions, last featuring when he scored in the 4-1 win over West Ham two weeks back.
