Watch highlights of West Ham Vs Manchester United at the London Stadium as Jarrod Bowen’s controversial penalty sealed a 2-1 victory for the Irons on Sunday afternoon.

Casimero looked to have rescued a point for United when his 81st-minute header brought the visitors level after Crysencio Summerville had put West Ham in front.

But with minutes left to play, referee David Coote awarded the Hammers a controversial penalty. After a lengthy VAR review, Matthijs de Ligt’s was judged to have fouled Danny Ings in the box.

United’s players argued, suggesting a handball by Ings beforehand, but the official was not interested.

Bowen stepped up and converted the spot kick past Andre Onana to send the London Stadium wild.

Despite dominating the ball and creating plenty, United were left to rue missed opportunities.

West Ham’s much-improved performance after the break and deserved their lead, though United fans will feel very aggrieved not to have taken a point back up north.

The defeat leaves Eric Ten Hag’s Manchester United 14th in the table, dropping below West Ham having scored fewer goals.

Pressure is mounting on the Dutch manager to turn things around quickly. United have won just three of their nine Premier League games to date, and are as close to the relegation zone as they are to the top four as things stand.

West Ham climb further from the bottom three with victory, easing the pressure on their own manager Julen Lopetigui.

The Irons have now won two of their last three, but travel to high-flying Nottingham Forest next Saturday.

United, meanwhile, host Chelsea next Sunday in what will be another stern test at Old Trafford.

Chelsea beat Newcastle at Stamford Bridge, and are chasing down the top four places ahead of next weekend.
