The latest Marcus Rashford transfer update has indicated that the Manchester United star has asked to leave Old Trafford, according to El Nacional

Rashford has struggled in front of goal since the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season. The 26-year-old only managed eight goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

That return was a far cry from Rashford’s form the year previous. The England international scored 30 times and recorded 11 assists from 56 outings.

Fast-forward to this season, the England international has netted just four times in 12 games. Two of those efforts came against League One Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford Transfer Update Hints At Move To Premier League Rival

According to the bombshell report, the most recent Marcus Rashford transfer update suggests a January move to Aston Villa could be on the cards.

The sensational news will come as a huge blow to Manchester United supporters. Especially as the report implies that Rashford blames the Red Devils for his alarming decline.

It has been claimed that the forward doesn’t ‘believe there is neither an ambitious nor stable project’ in the pipeline at the club. As a result, Rashford ‘has already asked his agent to try to get him out of there.’

A potential switch from Old Trafford to Villa Park certainly would raise a few eyebrows. Especially as Unai Emery has a settled side with plenty of strong attacking options.

Where Else Could Marcus Rashford End Up In January?

With a move to Aston Villa being touted, there are also two other potential candidates based on the continent who could be set to swoop.

Serie A side Napoli would likely explore the option of signing Marcus Rashford. The 26-year-old would therefore be reunited with former Manchester United teammates Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku.

Manager Antonio Conte is more than aware of Rashford’s talents owing to his time in charge of Chelsea and Tottenham. The Blues are currently top of Serie A and Rashford would increase his chances of winning a league title.

Meanwhile, Ligue 1 side Marseille are another viable option. Again, Rashford could also link up with ex-Red Devil Mason Greenwood in France.

Nonetheless, the surprising report can be taken with a pinch of salt but the idea of Rashford moving away from United is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
