Anthony Gordon new contract

Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon has signed a new contract with the Premier League side.

The winger joined Newcastle in January 2023 from Everton, in a deal worth £45m.

Still only 23, Gordon has notched up 15 goals and 11 assists in 74 total appearances since joining the Magpies.

This long-term extension will keep the England international on Tyneside for the foreseeable future.

Gordon was a part of the Three Lions squad which reached the Euro 2024 final this summer.

Having made his senior international debut in March, he was linked with a move back home, this time with Liverpool.

But no deal materialised, and he has now committed his future to Newcastle.

Anthony Gordon’s New Contract Reflects His Growth Under Eddie Howe

Discussing the new contract for Anthony Gordon, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe highlighted how far the young winger has come in a short space of time.

The manager said he felt Gordon has grown ‘as a player and a person’ since switching to the North East.

Howe said: “He is dedicated to improving himself and the team, and when you add that to the quality of his performances and his incredibly high work-rate, it’s clear to see why he has such a special connection with our supporters.

“There’s even more to come from Anthony and I’m excited about what’s ahead for him and us.”

And Gordon himself seems to be enjoying his relationship with the boss and the wider club.

“I just think the club’s in a great place,” he said.

“Since the takeover it’s just been up and up. Me and the gaffer are a perfect match in terms of style of play. I love it here.

“The team is very suited to me – and I’m here to win a trophy. The short story is we need to win a trophy.

“Winning a trophy here would be unbelievable because the fans have waited so long. To be part of that team who finally does it is a massive goal of mine.”

Newcastle’s next game is on Sunday, when they travel to Chelsea in the Premier League in a 2:00pm kick off at Stamford Bridge.
