The last vestige of the “Big Three” is still finding himself in the latter stages of Grand Slams and Masters 1000’s, but the effervescent tennis of Gen Z’s response to Novak, Rafa and Roger – namely Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz – is now taking centre stage.

Jannik Sinner rounded off an exceptional 2024 by clinching the final Grand Slam of the year – and his second of the season – before a scintillating Asian swing that culminated in his third Masters 1000 of the year.

Oh, and add a cool $6million pay check to that at the inaugural Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia – the biggest prize money ever in tennis.

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz completed 2024’s Grand Slam set by winning the remaining two not clinched by Sinner, while also adding Indian Wells to his resumé.

A world-beating duo that will no doubt dominate the Tour for the foreseeable future, but the seemingly unattainable Grand Slam haul of record-holder Novak Djokovic is a feat that will require an other-worldy winning cadence.

How Many Grand Slams Has Novak Djokovic Won?

24 Grand Slam titles, including a double-figure haul at the Australian Open, are the kind of numbers that are only possible through unconventional health practices and a relatively injury-free career.

Djokovic is an unyielding master of his own biology, having followed a scrupulous diet and training regime throughout his two-decade-plus career.

Such is his dedication to keeping himself healthy that he was deported from Australia in 2022 – a tournament he has won more than anybody else – over his refusal to get the Covid vaccine.

Nevertheless, his own transgressions have scarcely gotten in the way of winning – 24 times to be exact – and that number could well rise in the twilight of his career.

How Many Grand Slams Has Jannik Sinner Won?

Jannik Sinner’s career is decidedly scarped at the time of writing.

The new world number one stormed his way to both hard court Slams in 2024 with very little exertion, along with three Masters 1000’s.

The French Open and Wimbledon have so far eluded him, but at 23 there is plenty of scope for a potential double-figure haul when all is said and done.

How Many Grand Slams Has Carlos Alcaraz Won?

Alcaraz – who is two years younger than Sinner – has already lept ahead of the Italian after winning his fourth career Slam at Wimbledon in the summer.

2025 opens with the Australian Open; a title Alcaraz will be thirsting for so as to complete a Career Grand Slam. If he were to win in Melbourne, he would also surpass compatriot Rafael Nadal as the youngest to win all four Slams.

How Many Grand Slams Do Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner Have to Win Per-year to Match Novak Djokovic?

Jannik Sinner is 22 Grand Slams behind Novak Djokovic, who is 14 years his senior.

In order to move level with the all-time record holder – providing he can stop him from winning any more before his imminent retirement – Sinner would need to win 1.5 Slams per season, or at least one Slam per-year, with some years requiring multiple.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz has a little more breathing space given he is 16 years younger than Djokovic. He also has the benefit of having already won a breathtaking four Slams at just 21.

However, he would still need to win 1.3 Slams per-season to match Djokovic.
