Bournemouth earned a surprise 2-0 victory against Arsenal at home thanks to goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert.

The encounter was flipped on its head after the first half an hour when William Saliba was shown a straight red card for denying Cherries striker Evanilson a goal-scoring opportunity.

Saliba is now banned for one Premier League game, which falls against Liverpool next Sunday in Gameweek 9 at the Emirates Stadium.

After 70 minutes, Christie broke the deadlock when Lewis Cook’s clever delivery from was flicked on by Kluivert and the Scottish international took the ball in his stride brilliantly to find the top corner.

Less than ten minutes later, David Raya took Evanilson out in the penalty box and the hosts were awarded the chance to double their lead on the south coast.

Kluivert stepped up and converted to score his first goal of the Premier League season for Bournemouth, who moved into the top half of the table with the win.
