Everton continue progressive Premier League form with 2-0 away win at Ipswich

Everton continued their streak of impressive form in the Premier League with a 2-0 win away at Ipswich Town.

Sean Dyche’s side appear to be growing into the season nicely – as well as benefitting from a favourable run of fixtures – with a streak of five games unbeaten in all competitions.

In the Premier League, Everton have two wins and two draws in their last four and the Toffees have created a welcome cushion between themselves and the drop zone, a gap which is now five points.

Iliman Ndiaye bagged his second league goal of the season to put the visitors in front at Portman Road, making an immediate impact following his £15 million move from Marseille in the summer.

Everton’s lead was doubled on the stroke of half-time when Dwight McNeil slipped centre-half Michael Keane through on goal, who made no mistake in doing his best centre-forward impression by firing home into the roof of the net with his weaker foot.

McNeil has been involved in six of Everton’s nine Premier League goals so fare this season – a proportion (67%) which is bettered by only Chelsea star Cole Palmer (69%).

Dyche’s men haven’t conceded a goal from open play in five outings and add that with a run of four league games without defeat, the Blues are beginning to find their feet.

Back-to-back clean sheets is another positive for the Toffees to be encouraged by, and they drifted out to 5/2 to be relegated according to the best football betting sites.

Everton will like what they see in their upcoming league schedule, with games against Fulham, Southampton, West Ham and Brentford to follow.

As for Ipswich, the Tractor Boys remain on the cusp of the drop zone and Kieran McKenna’s side are still yet to pick up a win in all competitions so far this campaign.
