Jon Rahm might have been crowned the 2023 LIV Golf Individual winner last season, but his side saw one of their players get relegated from the tour – meaning Rahm’s LIV Golf team are in the marketplace for a new player ahead of the 2025 season.
Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf Team Legion XIII Eye Replacement For Relegated Kieran Vincent
Only three LIV Golf players finished below golfer Kieran Vincent in the standings in 2024 – which also unfortunantly meant the Zimbabwean has been relegated from the lucrative tour and won’t play in Jon Rahm’s Legion VIII team in 2025.
Therefore, Legion XIII are now on the lookout for a new golf player and the former world number one Jon Rahm is reported to be leading the search.
Vincent managed only 2.75 over his LIV Golf 2024 season – compared to his other team members Jon Rahm (235.17), Tyrrell Hatton (161.49) and Caleb Surrat (17.05).
Rahm also banked a staggering $18m bonus for being the top LIV golf individual player in 2024.
Jon Rahm Targets Several LIV Golf Team Replacements, Including A Fellow Spaniard
After being interviewed by Golf Sin Etiquetas (see below) on YouTube Rahm said – “I still don’t have a player who’s already signed but we have six or seven in mind.”
Rahm also added that one of those ‘six or seven’ was a fellow Spanish player, who is playing with the LIV golf winner in the Andalucia Masters on the DP World Tour this week.
Possible Players That Could Join Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf Team
Angel Hidalgo
Fellow Spanish player that many feel is high up Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team hitlist. Rahm also lost out to Hidalgo in a play-off at the Open de Espana earlier this season.
Hideki Matsuyama
World ranked 7th and it’s been no secret that the LIV golf organisers have been wanting to sign Matsuyama, who won the 2021 Masters, for a while.
Matsuyama also landed an Olympic bronze medal and has won 10 times on the Tour.
Adam Scott
Has been a pro for 24 years and being another former major winning (Masters 2013) is another sort-after golf player the LIV Tour have been trying to sign.
Also won the Players Championship in 2004 and in total has won 14 times on the Tour.
Wyndham Clark
2023 US Open winner and has admitted to having discussions about joining the LIV golf tour in the past. In addition to that US Open success has also won twice more.
Tony Finau
The winner of six PGA Tour events and a big name on the circuit. Reports are that Finau almost signed for LIV earlier in 2024 but decided to stay put.
‘Big Tone’ will, however, be of interest again and looks another perfect fit for the vacant Jon Rahm LIV golf team place.
When Does The 2025 LIV Golf Season Start?
The first 2025 LIV Golf season gets going between February 6th and 8th – with Riyadh the first venue.
With the action moving to Adelaide the following week on February 14th to 16th.
