Bournemouth Arsenal team news

As Premier League action returns this weekend, here’s our Bournemouth Vs Arsenal team news, preview and predicted lineups ahead of Saturday’s match.

Arsenal will spend Saturday night on top of the Premier League if they take three points away from the South Coast.

Mikel Arteta’s men are third as it stands, one point below leaders Liverpool. But with neither Liverpool nor Manchester City playing until Sunday, the Gunners can pile the pressure on their rivals.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have made a solid start to the campaign. The Cherries are 13th in the table, with two wins, two draws and three defeats from their opening seven.

They are as close to the European places as they are to the bottom three, and will hope to move closer to the former this weekend.

But they will be up against it at home to an Arsenal side desperate to mount a successful title challenge this year.

Bournemouth have beaten Arsenal just once in their history. In 16 matches between the two, Arsenal have won 13, with two draws.

The sole victory for the Dorset side came in January 2018, when they won 2-1 at home in the Premier League.

Bournemouth Team News

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola may well be able to select from as fully fit squad on Saturday. American fullback Tyler Adams was hopeful of shaking off a back injury in time to face the Gunners.

Will every option at his disposal, Iraola could line up some changes after the defeat to Leicester last time out. Justin Kluivert was hooked off at half time at the King Power, and may find himself dropped altogether.

That leaves the door open for Luis Sinisterra and Dango Ouattara, who could both slot into the Bournemouth attack. New man Evanilson should keep his place ahead of Enes Unal, however.

Arsenal Team News

While Bournemouth have an empty medical room, Arsenal’s is overflowing. Arteta had hoped for an injury-free international break, only to have now lost Bukayo Saka (hamstring) and Gabriel Martinelli (calf) to fresh problems.

Saka at least is a possibility for Saturday, with the winger not yet ruled out for definite. Likewise, Thomas Partey and Kai Havertz may be available despite pulling out of international duty.

But skipper Martin Odegaard (ankle) and fullback Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) are both reported to have suffered setbacks in their rehabilitation, and shouldn’t be expected back this month. Kieran Tierney (hamstring), Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf), Ben White (groin) and Jurrien Timber are also out.

And with Bournemouth loanee Neto ineligible to face his parent club, there could be a chance for 16-year-old goalkeeper Jack Porter to make the bench behind starter David Raya thanks to Tommy Setford picking up an injury.
