Real Madrid and France star Kylian Mbappe is facing allegations of rape and sexual assault from prosecutors in Sweden after his visit to Stockholm last week.

Sweden’s Prosecution Authority have confirmed that a criminal report has been submitted to the police surrounding a rape investigation involving Mbappe.

The 25-year-old visited Sweden with a group of friends over the international break and according to the report, the incident took place on October 10th at the Bank Hotel.

On the night of the incident, France cruised to a 4-1 victory in the UEFA Nations League over Israel – but Mbappe was not included in the squad as he continues to recover from a thigh injury.

The forward took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to protest his innocence earlier this week, claiming ‘fake news’ with a ‘winking’ emoji and suggested it was a timely attack.

A hearing is set to take place on Tuesday as part of his ongoing battle with former club Paris Saint-Germain over £46 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, which Mbappe supposedly believes is related to the allegations.

It is unsure whether the player is suggesting that PSG are playing a role in the saga or not – and the Parisien side declined to comment, saying they will keep their ‘dignity’ and ‘class.’

Mbappe was edited out of a photo from Real Madrid‘s latest promotional campaign following the launch of their ‘Artist Park’ collection with Adidas.

His teammate Jude Bellingham posted the unedited version to Instagram before it was swiftly deleted:

What Are The Allegations Against Kylian Mbappe?

Swedish public broadcaster STV said that according to official documents they have seen, Mbappe is ‘reasonably suspected’ of rape – and the report was made after his visit to the country had finished.

Tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet claims that Mbappe went to a restaurant called Chez Jolie in Stockholm before partying at ‘V,’ a nightclub in Stureplan.

The player’s camp moved to deny the alleged claims very quickly in a statement made to French news agency Agence France-Presse:

“Today, a new slanderous rumour is starting to spread across the web from the Swedish media Aftonbladet. These accusations are completely false and irresponsible, and their propagation is unacceptable.

“In order to put an end to this methodical destruction of [the] image [of Kylian Mbappe], all necessary legal actions will be taken to re-establish the truth and pursue any person or media involved in the moral harassment and defamatory treatment that Kylian Mbappe is suffering repeatedly.”
