Racecourses adding music concerts to the end of a horse racing fixtures is not a new thing – but attracting huge A-list artists to perform is. So, have Chelmsford Racecourse managed to pull off the ‘coup of the century’ by signing US mega star Justin Timberlake to sing at the Essex venue in July 2025?

Justin Timberlake To Sing At Chelmsford City Racecourse On 4th July 2025

The 4th of July is Independence Day in the US, but this date will take on a whole new meaning in the UK – as American popstar Justin Timberlake has been signed up by Chelmsford City Racecourse to perform.

Racecourses adding pop concerts to the end of a horse racing meeting has been a popular summer attraction over the last 15 years – with big names like Madness, Simply Red, Olly Murs, Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt – just some of the artists that have shown up over the last decade at courses.

But, have Chelmsford Racecourse trumped the lot, by securing the services of 10-time GRAMMY Award winner – Justin Timberlake?

Timberlake will be at the Essex venue as part of his ongoing ‘The Forget Tomorrow’ World Tour in early July 2025 and tickets are already on sale via the Chelmsford City Racecourse website.

His World Tour started in April 2024 and will run through till the end of July 2025, with his last concert in Paris, France.

Chelmsford Racecourse Expect To Sell The 25,000 Justin Timberlake Tickets

The All-Weather track, who sometimes struggle to get over 500 people to attend a racing fixture are predicting 25,000 tickets to be sold, in what will be their biggest event ever.

Chelmsford City Racecourse WON’T Be Staging Racing That Day

However, do note that there will be NO RACING as Chelmsford City that day – the venue is purely hosting the one-off Timberlake concert.

With over 54 million albums and 63 million singles sold over the years, Timberlake is clearly not short of a few quid – which makes it all the more bizarre that he’ll be performing at Chelmsford, which is a lovely AW racing venue, but certainly not one of the premier tracks in the UK.

Fans can, however, expect to see fireworks from Timberlake on the 4th July night as the ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ star will be belting out all his popular hits on what promising to be an evening to remember for the horse racing venue.

The Timberlake/Chelmsford gig will also be the fourth last concert on his monster two year world tour.
