The likes of Mohamed Salah, Gabriel, William Saliba, Ryan Gravenberch, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cristian Romero, Rico Lewis and many more have all been excluded from the team, while there are representatives from Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Fulham, Chelsea and Manchester City included in the side.

GK: David Raya (Arsenal) – 7.32

Arsenal stopper David Raya has been identified as the standout goalkeeper in the league thus far this term, pipping the likes of Alisson, Ederson, Mark Flekken and Mads Hermansen to top spot.

The Spaniard has kept a total of three clean sheets across seven appearances so far, was a standout figure in the Gunners’ games against Aston Villa and Manchester City, and has been crucial in his side maintaining an unbeaten record heading into October’s international window.

Staying in North London, Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has been selected in right-back with an average rating of 7.16. Porro has featured in all seven of Spurs’ league matches this term, contributing with one goal and two clean sheets.

The 25-year-old narrowly beats Alexander-Arnold to a starting position in the XI, while James Justin, Noussair Mazraoui, Joel Veltman, Kenny Tete and Daniel Munoz have all enjoyed strong starts to the campaign too.

CB: Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool) – 7.19

The first of two Liverpool defenders named in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Season so far is Ibrahima Konate.

Konate has been a key figure in Arne Slot’s backline, appearing in six of the Reds’ seven English top-flight matches this term, helping his side to a league-best five clean sheets so far in 2024/25.

The Frenchman has also started contributing in the attacking third. He provided an assist in the win over Bournemouth last month and followed that up with his first Premier League goal against Wolves a week later.

CB: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – 7.35

Leading the way with the highest average rating of any centre-back in the Premier League, it’s Konate’s defensive partner Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman has an impressive average match rating of 7.35 so far this season.

Van Dijk has played every minute in the league for the Reds this term and, like Konate, has been crucial in maintaining his side’s strong defensive record.

ST: Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 8.11

Unsurprisingly, the Premier League’s leading goalscorer for the last two seasons – Erling Haaland – is included in the starting XI.
