Az from FPL Blackbox delves into the fixture ease schedule ahead of FPL Gameweek 7, and three teams stand out in particular – including strugglers Everton.

Hopefully you were on the right side of a green arrow this week, but if you didn’t own the likes of Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins, Dwight McNeil, or Mo Salah, commiserations and let’s go again this week!

With the captaincy almost certainly being locked to Erling Haaland for the next 5-6 Gameweeks, it’s going to have to be other areas where we look to get ahead of our rivals. The first place to look is always the fixture ticker. So, who has the best fixtures coming up?

FPL Gameweek 7: Which Teams Have The Best Fixtures?

Everton – NEW, ips, FUL, sou, whu, BRE

No team has better fixtures than Everton over the next 6 weeks. Ipswich, Southampton, Brentford and West Ham are all in the bottom 7 in terms of goals conceded this season. For Newcastle, the only clean sheets away from home since August LAST YEAR were an 8-0 drubbing of Sheffield United and a narrow 1-0 victory against Fulham. That’s 2 clean sheets in 22 games. Fulham present a sterner test, but it’s still only one clean sheet for them so far this season.

This means the attack looks prime for investment. McNeil has a new role, more central and closer to the goal. He has created the most chances in the league this season and also scored two beautiful goals in the win against Palace last time out. Calvert-Lewin is also putting up some impressive numbers without getting on the scoresheet and looks the pick of the £6.0m options up front.

Defensively, the Toffee’s still look a bit of a no-go, but do at least have Branthwaite back. It was around this time last year that Pickford started his ascent to top of the goalkeeper rankings, so if you are looking for a new goalkeeper, the England international coming in at a cut price £4.8m could be a shrewd transfer.

Manchester City – FUL, wol, SOU, bou, bha, TOT

City will be happy with their start to the season, sitting second in the league, but there will be concerns going forward with injuries to key men Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne. It’s also been a slow start for player of the season Phil Foden, who has managed just 20 minutes in his last two games as he builds his fitness back up.

It’s a sea of green fixtures for City now though and while surely no one in their right mind is overlooking Haaland, other options are trickier to get excited about.

Foden is definitely an option for the maverick manager who wants to go against the grain of managers investing in the likes of Palmer and Salah. We all know what he’s capable of, and he started in the Champions League and scored the other night. I’m expecting him to come back into a depleted City side and have an immediate impact. At only 5% ownership, I think he’s worth a gamble if you can find the funds.

At the back, Gvardiol is back on the menu after his goal against Newcastle, but Rico Lewis looks a steal at just £4.7m. Just make sure you have adequate bench cover in case he does miss out (see below for a great option at a cheap price). Savio, Grealish, and Doku are too risky for me, with none having their position totally nailed down, but Bernardo might do a job for you, having only missed one game this season. He’s not the most exciting option but should score a steady number of points over the next few weeks.

Brentford – WOL, mun, IPS, ful, BOU, eve

Brentford have started the season as expected, losing to Liverpool, Spurs, and Man City but picking up points against Palace, Southampton, and West Ham. The next 4 fixtures in particular look a great time to invest in their attack, with Mbeumo being one of the first names on my team sheet when I wildcarded last week. His underlying stats are impressive, and he has scored five goals already in six matches. An absolute must-buy if you don’t have him already.

Elsewhere, Van den Berg is a steal, having started the last 3 games. There is some concern that when Rico Henry is back, he might find his place under threat, but he’s a risk worth taking and my pick of the £4.0m options. If you find yourself with a bit more cash in the bank, then Collins is the safer pick, but I don’t trust Brentford defensively, and he doesn’t appear to be offering much in terms of goal threat. Flekken is okay, but with the reliance on save points and lack of bonus for teams that concede goals, I would just be finding the extra £ for Raya, who looks set to obliterate the competition this year.

Carvalho is a fun punt at just £4.8m given that he assisted Mbeumo last time out and has near enough 90’ in his last two games. He’s playing high up the pitch and has an ownership of just 1.1%. As we look to fill our teams with premium options, he could be a real option for us and present an even cheaper alternative to the likes of Smith Rowe, Rogers, and Semenyo.
