FPL Gameweek 7 Best Chelsea Assets

Chelsea are a key side to focus on going into FPL Gameweek 7, as the top scorers in the Premier League this season, with 15 goals.

Cole Palmer is their highest scoring player so far, but he does come with a significant price tag, so potential suitors may need to look at different options from their attack.

So who are the top targets?

Cole Palmer (£10.7m)

It’s fair to say that Palmer remains the top target from the Chelsea attack. He’s the talisman of the team, as the top-performing midfielder in the game to date. He has produced ten goal involvements in the opening six gameweeks of the season, amassing six goals and four assists in this time.

His owners were thrilled with his four goals against Brighton and it could have been so much more, having missed two big chances and created two big chances which weren’t converted. We also now know following the Brighton game that he’s still Chelsea’s penalty taker under new manager Enzo Maresca.

I still believe that Palmer can justify his price tag for this campaign, having been the top-performing player in the game last season. The aim is for him to become the second premium player in our FPL squads after top scorer Erling Haaland and a credible captain alternative to the Norwegian each week.

Nicolas Jackson (£7.9m)

While it was Palmer who stole the show last time out, Nicolas Jackson was the Player of the Week back in Gameweek 5, when he produced three attacking returns from the 3-0 win away at West Ham. An assist against Brighton now takes him up to seven goal involvements for the campaign, with two blanks.

Jackson provides a significant price saving on Palmer, despite four price rises since the start of the season. He had two big chances in the game against Brighton, which he failed to convert. The big concern is that he could lose his place to Christopher Nkunku if he continues to be wasteful.

Jackson will get plenty of chances with Palmer feeding him, with this pair combining for four of Chelsea’s goals already in this campaign. Jackson ranks third for both shots on target (10) and big chances (8), while he’s also created three big chances, highlighting his routes to points.

Jadon Sancho (£6.4m)

Jadon Sancho’s move from Manchester United to Chelsea was one of the most significant moves in the closing days of the summer transfer window. He’s made a positive start to his career at Stamford Bridge, with four assists in three appearances in the Premier League.

He appeared as a substitute in Gameweek 4, before starting in Gameweek 5 and Gameweek 6. It now seems that he’s first choice on the left for league games in this potent Chelsea attack and he will continue to get opportunities for attacking returns given the personnel that he has around him.

Sancho has the pedigree, with 40 goals and 54 assists from 118 appearances in the Bundesliga. A positive start at Chelsea for Sancho will provide him with a much needed confidence boost and hopefully he can continue to kick on from here. He’s a great differential pick at a fantastic price point.
