Manchester United influencer Mark Goldbridge has claimed that sacking under pressure boss Erik ten Hag ‘won’t solve anything’ following the Red Devils’ humiliating 3-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

It was another weekend to forget for Manchester United fans, as following on from their bitterly disappointing Europa League draw against FC Twente in midweek, they fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Sunday’s clash saw Spurs take the lead after just two minutes of play, with Wales international Brennan Johnson tapping into an empty net after some excellent work from Micky van de Ven, before Bruno Fernandes was shown a straight red card just before half-time for a foul on James Maddison.

The visitors doubled their lead through Dejan Kulusevski, assisted by Johnson, just two minutes into the second period, and summer signing Dominic Solanke sealed the three points with Tottenham’s third in the 77th minute.

United now find themselves occupying 12th place in the Premier League table after six matches and are winless in each of their last three matches across all competitions, with pressure now mounting on Erik ten Hag.

While many Red Devils supporters are calling on the club to end their association with the Dutchman, influencer Mark Goldbridge believes that sacking him ‘won’t solve anything’.

Mark Goldbridge: Sacking Ten Hag ‘Won’t Solve Anything’

Speaking on The United Stand’s YouTube channel, Goldbridge spoke out on Ten Hag’s mooted departure and revealed that this is probably the lowest point he’s been at as a Manchester United fan.

“An absolute shower from Manchester United, and not a nice shower. Certainly not one with Radox and, you know, hot steamy water. Really brown water and one that stinks like a sewer. Disgusting performance from Manchester United.

“Of course, logically, the big question from all of the media and a lot of United fans; ‘will INEOS act? Will they sack Ten Hag?’, and whilst that is an overarching question, I have to be honest and say it doesn’t inspire, excite me at all.

“If they sack him, great. If they keep him, great. I don’t want him to be sacked – I’m not saying great if they sack him, I’m being sarcastic. I don’t think it will solve anything, I don’t think it’ll fix anything.”

He continued: “I’ve been here before. We did it to [Louis] van Gaal. I was excited about Jose [Mourinho], he failed. When we got rid of Jose, I was singing ‘Ole’s at the wheel’. He failed. When we got rid of Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], I was excited about the hipster coach from the Netherlands, he has failed.

“This is probably as low as I’ve been.”

Up next for United is a trip to Portugal to take on Porto in the Europa League on Thursday evening, before a tough trip to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Ten Hag’s side remain as 7/5 favourites to beat Porto despite their poor form, however the UK’s best football betting sites do not favour them against Villa, pricing the reigning FA Cup champions at 2/1 to claim all three points at Villa Park.
