Paddy Pimblett Fight With Renato Moicano In Doubt After Brazilian UFC Lightweight Star Suffers Brutal Shoulder Injury
After his impressive Round 2 knockout over Benoit Saint Denis at UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs Saint Denis, Renato Moicano’s potential fight with Paddy Pimblett is now in doubt after Brazilian MMA star suffers brutal shoulder injury.
Paddy Pimblett Fight With Renato Moicano In Doubt
Renato Moicano defeated Benoit Saint Denis with a career best performance at the latest UFC Fight Night. The Brazilian MMA sensation defeated the Frenchman, in Paris, via Round 2 knockout, picking up his fourth win on the spin in the UFC.
Despite winning emphatically and putting in a stellar performance, it has come at a coast as Moicano has seemingly suffered a horrendous shoulder injury during the bout. The injury came somewhere during the opening bell and the end of the fight in Round 2, with Moicano persisting with it to find a win.
After a dominant first round, Moicano almost stopped Saint Denis on a couple of occasions. The same in the second round, before the doctor eventually called a halt to the contest after examining the Frenchman’s eye injury at the end of Round 2.
After the fight, Moicano jumped on the microphone and gave a classic post-fight interview, calling out none other than Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett. Not to mention antagonising the hostile French crowd in Paris.
Another CLASSIC post-fight interview from Renato Moicano 😭😭
He goes in on the French government and calls for “easy fights” against Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker

Despite calling ‘Paddy The Baddy’ out post-fight, it is unlikely that fight will happen next due to Moicano’s shoulder injury. The extent of the injury is unknown, but it seems that it could be a broken shoulder due to the immense swelling.
Will Paddy Pimblett vs Renato Moicano Happen In 2025?
The first name on Renato ‘Money’ Moicano’s lips post-fight was none other than Paddy Pimblett. The Brazilian and the Liverpudlian have had lots of back and forth on social media and in interviews over the past few months, with UFC fans wanting the pair to settle their feud in the octagon.
It seems both fighters want that fight next, but it could be unlikely due to the injury Moicano sustained in his triumph over Benoit Sanit Denis. However, the pain didn’t seem to dampen Moicano’s enthusiasm, insisting that he will be back “as soon as possible” to fight either Pimblett or Dan Hooker.
After the fight, Moicano took to X thanking his team for helping him train hard for the fight, despite having a shoulder injury throughout camp.
I hurt my shoulder 3 weeks ago… but I couldn’t pull out of a main event… thank you my team for helping me training like that e get me ready for the fight #ufcparis #att https://t.co/V5rExjLHQM

If the Paddy Pimblett vs Renato Moicano fight is to happen next, it won’t be until March at the earliest. Pimblett has previously stated he wishes to fight once more before the end of the year, which could well be the case, before a potential Moicano fight in 2025.
The best UFC betting sites in the UK would likely favour Moicano to defeat Pimblett if that fight were to happen. However, Pimblett had plenty of doubters in his last fight and went on to win in emphatic fashion. You wouldn’t put it past him going and doing the exact same thing once again.
