Travis Kelce Reveals the Bills Mafia-Related Reason Josh Allen Is Like a ‘Natty Ice’ Beer
We all know there’s not quite as much to talk about in the NFL offseason. Case in point, this article. However, with a little creativity, you can have fun with some off-the-wall NFL topics like Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce did on their New Heights podcast. The brothers decided to compare NFL players to alcoholic beverages, and hilarity ensued, especially when they decided Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills Mafia’s favorite, is like a Natty Ice beer.
Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce compare NFL players to alcoholic beverages
As a fun offseason segment on their New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce decided to compare NFL players to alcoholic beverages.
The brothers made some hilarious drink assignments to NFL players (see below), but the best may have been Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen.
“You gotta go with a pretty standard beer, but you gotta go with a little more kick to it. So, I’m going to go with a ‘Natty Ice,'” Jason said, referring to the cheap beer favored in college towns around the country, Natural Ice.
Travis cracked up and agreed, then explained why Natty Ice makes sense for Josh Allen, the spiritual leader of the Bills Mafia.
“I feel like Natty Ice is the pregame for someone going through a table,” Travis replied, referencing a famous favorite activity of Bills fans.
“Yeah, if you got Natty Ice at the party, somethings getting broke. Someone’s going through a door. A window’s getting broke,” Jason agreed.
And for the quarterback who represents the blue-collar fans in the Bills Mafia, Josh Allen as Natty Ice is a perfect analogy.
NFL players to alcoholic beverages, according to the Kelce brothers
Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce had thoughts on plenty of other NFL players as well.
The brothers started with Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and deemed him a Riesling. They said the Vikings QB is “a white wine” and left it at that.
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Hayward is a Steel Reserve beer, a beer beloved in Pittsburgh. Travis said it’s because “this will probably be the manliest drink you can think of,” while Jason observed, “He kind of looks like a can of Steel Reserve.”
Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles offensive line teammate Lane Johnson is a bottle of Wild Turkey because it fits his personality, and he does one of the most realistic hunting Turkey calls that Jason has ever heard.
Marshawn Lynch is Hennessy, for obvious reasons, Rob Gronkowski is “the original Four Loko. The one that was kind of not safe,” and Zach Wilson “strikes me as a Zima guy,” according to Jason, while Travis thinks he’s a High Noon.
Finally, Justin Herbert is Mike’s Hard Lemonade. Travis Kelce said that’s the only “one that’s fitting,” although he didn’t explain why.
