NFL Draft
First held in 1936 with nine teams picking 81 players over nine rounds, the NFL Draft looks much different today.
Easily the highlight of the offseason, the NFL Draft has become an event in itself and has taken place in bigger and bigger venues as time has gone on to accommodate more fans.
The NFL Draft now consists of seven rounds, and win-loss records from the previous season determine the selection order. The team with the worst record is positioned first in each round, while the Super Bowl champion is positioned 32nd.
Of course, teams can choose to trade their respective picks, which happens often. Some franchises are also awarded compensatory picks, given to teams that lost more (or better) free agents than they acquired. Those picks are positioned from Round 3 to Round 7.
The Atlanta Falcons may be forced to trade away their most valuable asset before the 2021 NFL draft officially begins.
The Miami Dolphins just changed the landscape of the 2021 NFL draft thanks to a trade with direct ties to a gas mask incident.
Now that the 49ers obviously have their mind set on drafting a QB, Jimmy Garoppolo could be headed back to the New England Patriots as part of the fallout from a trade between San Francisco and the Miami Dolphins.
Before Jerry Jones settled for Dak Prescott in the 2016 NFL draft, he tried multiple times to trade up for a monumental QB bust.
With the Patriots bringing back Cam Newton on just a one-year deal, Bill Belichick may have future plans to make a big-time move to land Trey Lance in the 2021 NFL draft.
Rarely does a draft class produce underwhelming pick after underwhelming pick, but this happened to the NFL in 1992.
Former NFL head coach June Jones says the Jacksonville Jaguars shouldn’t select Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence with the top pick in the NFL draft.
Problem rookie Isaiah Wilson tweeted that he wants to part ways with the Tennessee Titans after playing just four downs in 2020.
Former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis strongly believes his former team should draft Alabama QB Mac Jones if he’s available.
None of the 22 quarterbacks taken in the first round of NFL drafts from 2009-16 remain with their original team.
