Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills rolled into the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium as the hottest team in the NFL and -4.5 favorites. After a hard-fought game in 90-degree heat, the Dolphins pulled the upset, taking first place in the AFC East. The Bills had plenty of chances to win it at the end, but the offense couldn’t get it done. This failure enraged Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, and a camera caught him trashing the coaching booth after the loss.

Longtime Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll left his hometown of Buffalo this past offseason and is having immediate (and surprising) success with the New York Giants. In his place, the Bills elevated last year’s quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey.
Dorsey was Cam Newton’s quarterbacks coach during his MVP and Super Bowl season and has also been a critical piece of Josh Allen’s development. He’s also a former high-level QB in his own right. Dorsey led the Miami Hurricanes to a national championship under center in 2001.
That competitive juice is still flowing in Dorsey, as he demonstrated after the Bills’ loss to the Dolphins in Week 3.
After blowing multiple chances to win the game (more on that below), the clock ran out on the Bills, and the Dolphins triumphed, 21-19. Dorsey was not happy with those final drives, and a camera caught the OC slamming his headphones, his hat, and all his papers before it looks like someone grabbed the camera off the desk, and the picture went black.
The video is immediately being embraced by Bills Mafia online as the reaction of all Buffalo fans after the shocking upset.
Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins upset Josh Allen and the Bills
The Buffalo Bills rolled into their Week 3 matchup as the hottest team in the NFL, having blasted the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 and the 2022 AFC champion Tennessee Titans in Week 2 by a combined score of 72-17.
In the sweltering heat of South Beach, though, the depleted Bills couldn’t get it done. The team had five defensive starters (Ed Oliver, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Jordan Phillips, Dane Jackson) out with injury. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins exploited this weakened defensive line and secondary with some big plays in the second half.
The fact that Tagovailoa was even in during the second half will generate some controversy on Monday. The QB left the game in the second quarter after a hit left him so woozy he couldn’t stand. However, the Dolphins training staff pronounced him healthy enough to return in the third.
Down 17-21 in the fourth, the Bills got down to the Dolphins’ 15-yard line with 3:57 to play but turned it over on downs at the 1-yard line with 1:47 left.
A safety and a Miami three-and-out later, the Bills had one more chance to get in field goal range to win it. Josh Allen got the Bills on the edge of FG range with 0:22 left on the clock, but a holding penalty on offensive lineman David Quessenberry pushed the team back.
On the last play of the game, Allen tossed it out Isaiah McKenzie under duress, and time ran out after the wide receiver couldn’t get out of bounds.
The Ken Dorsey temper tantrum came next.
How the AFC East is shaking out after Week 3
The Dolphins upset over the Bills makes the AFC East race much more interesting. The fact that the division is a two-team race, though, hasn’t changed.
Joe Flacco and the New York Jets lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 27-12 to fall to 1-2 on the season. The New England Patriots also dropped to 1-2 with a 37-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. To make matters worse, QB Mac Jones left the field in excruciating pain and could miss significant time.
That leaves the 3-0 Dolphins and the 2-1 Bills at the top of the AFC East. With the ‘Phins’ win, the two teams will likely battle it out for the division crown for the majority of the season.
This Week 3 outcome now makes the Week 15 matchup between these two teams a crucial contest for both and a must-watch game for fans. This game takes place on Sunday, December 18, at 1:00 pm ET in Buffalo.
