Team USA — Basketball

Team USA men’s and women’s national basketball teams are arguably the two most dominant teams at the Olympics. Since 1992, the men’s and women’s teams have combined to win 14 of 16 gold medals. The women’s team earned the bronze in 1992, while the men’s team earned the bronze in 2004.

Both teams are heavily favored to win the gold medal in Paris.

With global superstars like LeBron James and Stephen Curry on the team, Team USA men’s games are a hot ticket, with an average group play price of nearly $230.

If Team USA advances to the men’s gold medal game, the cheapest ticket is $710, one of the most expensive tickets at the Olympics.

For Team USA women, the average cost of a ticket to one of their group play games is $73. If they advance to the gold medal game, the cheapest ticket is $123.

These prices could increase in the gold medal game, especially if the United States faces the home nation of France.

Team USA — Gymnastics

The United States men’s gymnastics team includes Asher Hong, Paul Juda, Brody Malone, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Frederick Richard, the reigning world all-around bronze medalist.

The U.S. men’s team has not medaled in the team competition since 2008.

Because of the lack of standout names, men’s gymnastics tickets are much more affordable than women’s, with prices ranging from $126 to $162.

For Team USA women, it’s the complete opposite of the men. The women’s team has star power and a championship pedigree, which should draw huge crowds. The United States women’s gymnastics team includes Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee, and Hezly Rivera. The cheapest ticket to the women’s team final is $421.

All eyes will be on Biles, whose seven Olympic medals tie her with Shannon Miller for the most earned by a U.S. gymnast.

If Biles wins the women’s all-around, she joins Larisa Latynina and Vera Caslavska as the only women with two all-around Olympic gold medals. With history at stake, the lowest price for a women’s all-around ticket is $390.

Biles’ biggest competition will be Lee who won the gold medal in all-around at the 2020 games.

Team USA — Swimming

The biggest name in swimming is arguably Team USA’s Katie Ledecky.

Entering her fourth Olympics, Ledecky is looking to become the most decorated female swimmer of all time. With 10 medals (seven gold and three silver), Ledecky needs two more to tie Jenny Thompson’s 12 for the most in women’s swimming.

Ledecky is expected to compete in four events: the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 1500m freestyle, and 4x200m freestyle relay. Ledecky will be a heavy favorite in the 400m and 800m.

A ticket to the finals of the 800m freestyle costs $174, the most expensive ticket to feature Ledecky. Tickets to all four of Ledecky’s finals cost a minimum of $129.

Meanwhile, Caeleb Dressel is the name to watch on the men’s national team. Dressel won five gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics.

Dressel will compete in three events: the 4x100m freestyle relay, 50m freestyle, and 100m butterfly. Dressel won gold in all three events in Tokyo.

Like Ledecky, Dressel could potentially swim the 100m butterfly finals on the same night as Ledecky’s 800m freestyle, so the $174 could increase if both swimmers make the finals.

By the end of the Olympics, Noah Lyles could be known as the “fastest man on Earth.”

Lyles will run in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. Lyles is the reigning world champion in all three races.

Because so many events happen on the track in the early and late sessions, the tickets for Lyles’ races are fairly affordable compared to other sports. The most expensive race, the first round of the 200m, costs $151.

After being suspended from the Tokyo Olympics, Sha’Carri Richardson will make her Olympic debut in Paris.

Despite her lack of Olympic experience, Richardson has had success elsewhere, including the 2023 World Championships where she won gold in the 100m and 4x100m relay.

The 100m race is always one of the most exciting events at the Olympics, so it typically costs more money. The women’s 100m costs $133.

In pole vaulting, two-time world champion Sam Kendricks returns to the Olympics for the first time since winning the bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Kendricks missed the 2020 Summer Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19.

Kendricks’ biggest challenger will be Sweeden’s Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, the world record holder for outdoor pole vaulting at 6.24 meters.

A ticket to the men’s pole vault final costs $151.
