The sci-fi drama is not afraid to kill off characters. Notable deaths through four seasons include Barbara “Barb” Holland, Bob Newby, Billy Hargrove, Chrissy Cunningham, and Eddie Munson.

For good reason, Vecna (-10000) is a heavy favorite to die. Vecna, also known as Henry Creel/One, is the show’s primary antagonist for Season 5. If good conquers evil again, Vecna will perish.
After Vecna, the likeliest character from Hawkins to die is Will Byers (-200). Will was abducted by the Demogorgon in Season 1 and would have died in the Upside Down had it not been for Eleven. Considering his ties to the Upside Down, Will dying in Season 5 would not be shocking.
Speaking of Eleven (-137), she is another strong candidate to die in the final season. Eleven has cheated death at the end of every season in her battles against creatures from the Upside Down. Eleven might have to sacrifice her own life to save her friends in the fight against Vecna.
Like Eleven, Jim Hopper (-120) cheated death at the end of Season 3. Hopper seemingly died in an explosion after the gate closed. However, Hopper survived and wound up in a Russian prison to start Season 4. Hopper is definitely not afraid to die. Therefore, he’s a prime candidate to risk his life so others may live.
Max (+200) is one of the only characters to have previously died. Vecna killed Max at the end of Season 4. However, Eleven used her powers to resurrect Max. Now, Max is in a coma. Would the Duffer Brothers resurrect Max only to kill her in Season 5? It seems unlikely.
