Scottie Scheffler, the World’s #1 golfer, is the betting favorite to win the Open Championship
Starting on Thursday, the best golfers in the world will be playing at the Royal Troon Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland for the 152nd Open Championship. It’s the oldest major in all of golf and the betting favorite heading into the prestigious events is the World’s #1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler. He has (+400) odds to win. Scheffler has won six events this year, including his second green jacket at Augusta. The 28-year-old is the betting favorite heading into the final major of the year.
Of the three majors that Scottie Scheffler has played in this season, his (+450) odds to win are the highest yet. Ahead of the Master’s, Scheffler was (+400) to win. He finished off that major with his second green jacket. With four wins and a tie in smaller events ahead of the PGA Championship, Scheffler was again (+400) to win that event. However, Scheffler had the birth of his child and a strange encounter with police that threw off his week. He finished just inside the Top 10. At the U.S. Open, Scheffler was (+250) to win. However, he finished 41st at Pinehurst. Can Scheffler get back on track at the Open Championship and win it all?
