NFL Trade Deadline: Jets Reject Raiders’ Mike Williams Trade Proposal
The Jets turned down an offer from the Raiders that included Mike Williams in a deal for Davante Adams. Could Williams still be moved?
The Las Vegas Raiders made their move, parting ways with star receiver Davante Adams, but not without an initial ask for more—a lot more. In the back-and-forth with the New York Jets, the Raiders wanted wide receiver Mike Williams to be included in the trade. But New York wouldn’t budge.
Ultimately, the deal came down to a conditional 2025 third-round pick from the Jets. It was a choice that left some wondering if Vegas had walked away with enough. According to NFL Insider Albert Breer, who shared on The Rich Eisen Show, the Raiders’ hope for Williams was rooted in their need to replace Adams with a high-caliber receiver. But instead, they settled for future potential.
“I can give you this little nugget on him, the Raiders tried to get the Jets to throw him in the trade for Davante Adams. The Jets wouldn’t do it,” Breer explained on Wednesday, October 30.
The conditions on the pick might raise its value: if Adams is named a first or second-team All-Pro, or if he’s on the Jets’ active roster for the AFC Championship or Super Bowl, that third-rounder escalates to a second-round pick. It’s a calculated risk for Las Vegas, where future stakes now hang on Adams’ performance—and the Jets’ postseason journey.
Will the Jets Still Shop Mike Williams Before the Trade Deadline?
In a season marked by struggles, the Jets turned to an old connection, bringing Davante Adams into the fold to reignite a spark with former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers. Adams’ arrival brings renewed hope for a stalled offense, but it also nudged receiver Mike Williams further down the depth chart. Interestingly, the Jets wouldn’t part with Williams to secure the deal.
For Williams, it’s been a year of challenges. Signed to a one-year contract, he came into New York recovering from an ACL tear suffered in Los Angeles, and rehab slowed his rhythm with Rodgers and his teammates. His journey has been one of perseverance, yet it hasn’t panned out as the Jets hoped.
Watching Aaron Rodgers throw the ball makes me cringe. He is absolutely terrible this season.
This is a wide open receiver Mike Williams—and Aaron Rodgers completely misses him. 😔
On a big 3rd down-Rodgers comes up short again.

Despite trade rumors, the latest setback to receiver Allen Lazard shifts the team’s thinking. ESPN’s Rich Cimini suggests that Williams may now stay put. With the deadline looming on November 5, the Jets face a choice: keep Williams, whose chemistry remains unproven, or open a new chapter with a receiver seeking a role to call his own. In a season searching for answers, Williams’ next steps remain one of many stories still unfolding.
