Last season, the Cowboys won the NFC East but lost in the wild-card round to the Green Bay Packers.

Philadephia finished second in the NFC East with an 11-6 record.

They made it to the playoffs but lost in the wild-card round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Giants were 6-11 and did not make the playoffs last year.

They acquired star pass rusher Brian Burns in the offseason from the Carolina Panthers.

Washington finished last in the division last season with a 4-13 record.

The Commanders selected QB Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Below, we will break down each team in the NFC East and predict which team will win the division.

Dallas Cowboys

NFC East Breakdown: Which Team Will Win The Division?

Last season, the Cowboys won the NFC East with a 12-5 record.

This season, Dallas does not look as threatening.

Star WR CeeDee Lamb has held out of training camp as he looks for a new contract.

CB Trevon Diggs tore his ACL in September last year and he may not be fully healthy this season.

The interior of their defensive line is a major weakness.

Their offensive line, which has been a strong position for Dallas for years, looks much weaker this year.

Left tackle Tyron Smith and center Tyler Biadasz walked in the offseason and are no longer with the team.

Right tackle Terrence Steele had a disappointing 2023 season coming back from injury.

The guard position looks strong for Dallas with Tyler Smith and Zack Martin but the other three positions on the offensive line are major question marks.

While star QB Dak Prescott is not holding out, he could leave the Cowboys after this season as he also wants a new contract.

Dallas’ roster is not as strong as it has been the last couple of years but they are still a threat to repeat as NFC East champions.

Philadelphia Eagles

NFC East Breakdown: Which Team Will Win The Division?

The Philadelphia Eagles had one of the most strange seasons last year.

They started incredibly hot, going 10-1 in their first 11 games.

However, in their final six games, they went 1-5 and lost in the wild-card round in the playoffs.

It was a tale of two seasons for the Eagles.

They looked like the Super Bowl favorites after week 12.

In the offseason, they signed star RB Saquon Barkley.

Star center Jason Kelce retired in the offseason but their offensive line remains very good.

A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith form one of the best WR duos in the league.

Jalen Hurts is an elite QB that can beat you with his arm or legs.

Philadelphia’s defense can put pressure on QBs but their secondary was a weakness last year.

The Eagles ranked seventh in points per game but just 30th in points allowed per game last year.

This was a big downgrade for a defense that ranked seventh in points allowed per game in 2022.

Philadelphia looked like a Super Bowl-caliber team through the first 12 weeks last year and will look to get back to that form.

The Eagles are a huge threat to win the NFC East.

New York Giants

NFC East Breakdown: Which Team Will Win The Division?

The New York Giants were 6-11 and finished third in the NFC East.

They ranked 30th in points per game and 22nd in points allowed per game last year.

However, they have improved their roster, despite losing star RB Saquon Barkley. |

They acquired star pass rusher Brian Burns and drafted WR Malik Nabers.

Both will make an immediate impact on the team.

The Giants’ success or lack thereof will depend once again on QB Daniel Jones.

Jones has yet to prove he is a franchise-caliber QB, despite receiving a huge new deal in March of last year.

One thing the Giants did well was take the ball away from opposing teams as they ranked first in team takeaways last year.

They ranked 28th in sacks per game but Brian Burns will help put more pressure on opposing QBs.

With the additions of Malik Nabers and Brian Burns, the Giants look improved this season.

They can contend for a playoff spot but it is unlikely they will win the NFC East.

Washington Commanders

NFC East Breakdown: Which Team Will Win The Division?

Washington finished last in the NFC East last year with a 4-13 record.

The Commanders selected QB Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

They hope they found their franchise QB.

He has some weapons in WR Terry McLaurin and RB Austin Ekeler.

The offensive line is a bit of a weakness in front of Daniels.

Washington’s defense ranked ninth in points allowed per game.

However, they only ranked 26th in sacks per game and 24th in takeaways per game.

Their defense will need to improve in 2024 to help rookie QB Jayden Daniels.

Washington is improved but they are not capable of competing to win the NFC East.

Which Team Will Win The NFC East?

While the Commanders hope QB Jayden Daniels will be their franchise QB, they will not win the NFC East this season.

The Giants improved this offseason and can compete for a playoff spot but will not win the NFC East.

This season, the Cowboys do not look as threatening.

Star WR CeeDee Lamb has held out of training camp as he looks for a new contract.

CB Trevon Diggs tore his ACL in September last year and he may not be fully healthy this season.

The interior of Dallas’ defensive line is a major weakness.

Their offensive line, which has been a strong position for Dallas for years, looks much weaker this year.

Also, no team has repeated as NFC East champions since 2004.

This leaves the Philadelphia Eagles to win the division.

They started last year incredibly hot, going 10-1 in their first 11 games.

Philly faltered big time after that but they still have a very good all-around team.

The Eagles will get back on the right track and win the NFC East.
