The New York Jets were the most discussed team last year as they brought in QB Aaron Rodgers.

Things went downhill quickly as Rodgers played just four snaps last season before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.

Rodgers is back under center for the New York Jets this year.

The season did not start well as they lost to the San Francisco 49ers 32-19.

The 49ers are one of the best teams in the league but the Jets did not put up much of a fight.

Below, we discuss whether this was a bad sign or just a bad game for the New York Jets and whether the Jets can make the playoffs.

Was Week 1 A Bad Sign Or Bad Game For The New York Jets?

The New York Jets lost their week 1 contest 32-19 against the San Francisco 49ers.

New York was gashed on the ground, allowing the 49ers to have 180 rushing yards.

The 49ers did not have star RB Christian McCaffrey in week 1 but still found a lot of success.

Hassan Reddick continues to hold out for the New York Jets and did not suit up in week 1.

Reddick wants a new deal and has held out all offseason and in the first game of the season.

The defensive line got pushed around and looked like a major weakness.

Aaron Rodgers played fairly well but the New York Jets had just 21:20 time of possession.

This did not allow Rodgers or the offense to get anything going.

When Rodgers had the ball, he was efficient against one of the top defenses in the league.

Garrett Wilson is poised for a big season with Rodgers throwing him the ball.

The offense will be fine and this was just a fluke that they only had 21:20 time of possession.

Offensively, the New York Jets will be fine and this was just a bad game and an unlucky contest for the offense.

New York’s defense is expected to be one of the best in the league.

They got pushed around on the defensive line but they are too talented on defense for this to continue.

Week 1 was just a bad game and the New York Jets will bounce back.

New York Jets fans should not panic after week 1.

Can The Jets Make The Playoffs?

The New York Jets did not start the season the way they wanted.

However, it was just week 1 and the New York Jets were on the road and faced one of the best teams in the league.

On offense, the Jets were efficient but only had 21:20 time of possession.

This was because the Jets could not stop the 49ers’ run game.

New York’s defense is one of the best in the league and they will improve after a rough week 1.

The AFC is tough but many good teams like the Bengals, Ravens, Jaguars, and Colts are all 0-1 as well.

The Jets will bounce back and have a favorable schedule.

Their next four contests are all winnable.

The New York Jets will be on the road and face the Tennessee Titans in week 2, then they will be at home in weeks 3 and four against the Patriots and Broncos. In week five, the Jets will be on the road against the Vikings.

It would not be surprising to see the New York Jets reel off four straight wins and be 4-1 after week 5.

The New York Jets will bounce back after week 1 and with Rodgers under center, the Jets will make the playoffs.
