New Platform Foniso Set To Increase Sports Betting Engagement and Insights

Foniso, a new platform that offers real-time interaction, a personalized experience, and a comprehensive hub for sports enthusiasts, is aiming to expand its sports betting engagement market. The global reach platform creates a vibrant and unique ecosystem for all.

Foniso app will allow athletes, fans, and journalists to interact with one another

According to ThisDayLive, the global sports market is projected to hit $680 billion by 2028, with a cumulative annual growth rate of 9.13% between 2022 and 2028.

However, the sports market is reported to have low visibility on social media platforms. This is also relevant to sports betting, which is projected to rake in $45.43 billion in revenue this year.

One study revealed that the gap between athletes and their fan base still continues to widen, with 78% of athletes desiring more direct and meaningful interaction with their fans.

To fix this problem, Nigerian serial entrepreneur and CEO of Foniso, Dominic Essien, created his sports entertainment and networking app known as Foniso.

The Foniso app helps bring athletes, fans, and journalists together. It provides fans the experience of engaging with athletes on a wide range of subjects. The app also covers all types of popular sports content and news.

“Foniso is very special and very dear to us. We’ve realized, for instance, that the sporting world is really a huge industry. Over the years, what you tend to see are sports enthusiasts, fans, and players scrambling for space somewhere on social media,” Essien told ThisDayLive.

“They are just juggling every part of the social media space in order to get visibility. [Players want] to read content and project whatever information they have. So, we decided that for such an important industry, we needed to create a space uniquely for them.”

Over 60% of athletes say digital platforms are important in attracting scouts, securing sponsorships

More importantly, over half of athletes believe that digital platforms play a major role in attracting scouts and securing sponsorships. Since athletes all across the globe need to be promoted, Essien intends to enhance the app’s visibility via advertising.

The app is currently being advertised in European countries, as the Premier League is set to kick off later this month. Essien said the connectivity offered by the app will help showcase talents on a global scale.

“Very few of the sports legends we have today are very comfortable, and that’s not because they didn’t plan for a time like this,” Essien added.

“What we are trying to do here is to have them share stories and content about their playing days. [They] post about their past [and] offer advice for young people and upcoming stars. … Then we’ll amplify that and pay them for their consistent content.”

Additionally, Foniso is designed to utilize the community’s functionality. The app allows users to build a following and potentially earn on the platform. This would benefit journalists in the field as well.

“An Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, was once just a regular journalist until he gained access to the sports community and specific clubs and began to obtain vital information,” Essien said.

“Today, he is a reference point. We can create our own African, Nigerian journalist for the world. That’s what I want to do — showcase our own talent, find talents all over Nigeria, and present them.”

This may also help Nigeria to expand its sports betting market as well.
