In the United States, FanDuel and DraftKings are the two leading operators in the sports betting market. One sportsbook trying to make itself the clear-cut number three is BetMGM. Recently, the company announced that its online app will offer fans a better parlay experience for the upcoming football season.

BetMGM director of product management Brittany Dunbar showed fans how quick and easy it was for her to build a same-game parlay from just a single screen. Dunbar had this to say as an example.

Add Josh Allen, add Gabe Davis, and that becomes an SGP+,” said Dunbar. “Then you use this scoreboard component and click on Jaguars-Dolphins. Use the slider to filter down markets just for the Dolphins. Add Tua, it becomes a three-leg SGP+. Add Tyreek, a four-leg SGP plus. Expose quick bet. Add bet amount. And then get that bet off.”

Following in the footsteps of DraftKings and FanDuel, BetMGM will introduce a seamless same-game parlay builder in time for the upcoming 2024-2025 NFL season. While DraftKings and FanDuel have owned the parlay betting market, BetMGM will try to compete by offering players better odds, enhanced user experience, and a more streamlined product. With Angstrom’s pricing models, BetMGM will offer one of the largest football betting markets, allowing fans to find the best NFL props for every game this season.

What has BetMGM done to make themselves competitive in the U.S. betting market?

BetMGM partnered with MGM Resorts International and Entain Holdings. Last year, Entain acquired Angstrom, a data analytics firm, for $258 million. This has allowed the sportsbooks to improve their oddsmaking capabilities and bring them entirely in-house. If BetMGM is successful, they should start competing with DraftKings and FanDuel in hold percentage for parlays and same-game parlays this fall.

In 2024, BetMGM integrated Angstrom’s differentiated play-by-play simulation-based pricing models during the MLB season, resulting in the industry’s most extensive home run markets. BetMGM’s new app update and the same-game parlay builder will provide players with the most prominent football betting markets.

“BetMGM puts customers first, responding to players’ feedback and investing in user experiences to exceed expectations,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt in a press release. “Leveraging our powerful in-house technology, we developed a more seamless, intuitive, and integrated product. The BetMGM sports betting app is the perfect companion for the upcoming football season whether fans are enjoying the action in Vegas or at home.”

Additionally, BetMGM will have a bet-tracking feature that will allow fans bettors to keep up with all their bets in one place. BetMGM will dramatically change how they provide stats for bettors to research before placing a wager. This would keep the bettor in the BetMGM app rather than going to another data analytics app for player information. The company wants its bettors to use the data they provide to help make a judgment on placing a bet.
