Dalton Knecht Scores 35 Points In Lakers’ Win

After a slow start to the preseason, Knecht exploded for 35 points and seven rebounds in a Lakers 128-122 overtime win against the Phoenix Suns.

Knecht finished 10 of 18 from the field, making eight 3-pointers out of 13. Knecht hit a clutch three to tie the game at the end of regulation.

Knecht carried the Lakers down the stretch, scoring 20 straight points, including Los Angeles’ first 13 points in overtime.

The Lakers will play one final preseason game on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers open the season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22.

Per BetOnline, Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey (+275) is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year. The two-time college player of the year will have a chance to play big minutes for a Grizzlies’ team that will compete for a playoff spot.

Zaccharie Risacher (+550) has the second-best odds behind Edey to win the league’s top rookie prize. The Frenchman was selected first overall by the Atlanta Hawks.

Knecht (+1600) has the seventh-best odds to win the award. His chances of winning depend on first-year coach JJ Redick making Knecht a part of the rotation.

Knecht’s teammate, Bronny James (+20000), is the biggest longshot on the board.
