Let’s dive into the data to uncover which games and opponents are the hottest tickets for every NBA team.
Lakers Are The Most Common Opponent For Expensive Games
Team | Count | Average Ticket Price |
LA Lakers | 21 | $121.33 |
NY Knicks | 1 | $224.00 |
Golden State Warriors | 4 | $120.25 |
Sacramento Kings | 1 | $146.00 |

Phoenix Suns | 1 | $112.00 |
Boston Celtics | 1 | $54.00 |
The Los Angeles Lakers were the opponent for the most expensive game to attend for 21 NBA teams. Given that the Lakers can’t play themselves, that means LeBron James and the Lakers were the priciest ticket for 72% of the league (21 of 29 teams).
Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are the only other team to appear more than once on the list. The Warriors are the most expensive ticket for four NBA teams, including the Lakers on Christmas Day.
Aside from the Lakers and Warriors, the New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, and Boston Celtics were the only other teams to make the list of opponents.
Lakers’ Road Tickets Are 89% More Expensive Than Average NBA Home Opener
If there’s anything to be gleaned from the ticket data, it’s this: LeBron is still king and the Lakers remain the hottest ticket in town.
Basketball fans from around the globe already appear to be lining up to see LeBron play with his son Bronny in what could be his final NBA season. As a result, the cost of tickets to watch the Lakers on the road has sky-rocketed, even for smaller market teams. The average get-in price to watch LeBron and the Lakers in those 21 games is $121.33.
To put that into perspective, that’s about 89% more expensive than the average NBA home opener. In fact, only five NBA teams (including the Lakers) have a get-in price of over $100 for the first home game of the season.
