Massachusetts Woman Wins Two $1M Lottery Prizes Three Months Apart, Others Won Similar Prizes

A Massachusetts woman has won two different $1 million lottery prizes in less than three months apart, per the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. Gambling pays off eventually for some lucky bettors.

Massachusetts lottery winner Christine Wilson won $1M from Lifetime Millions on Feb. 23, $1M from 100X Cash on May 1

According to the state’s lottery website, Christine Wilson, from Attleborough, Mass., won $1 million playing a $50 game called Lifetime Millions on Feb. 23.

In February, Wilson became the first-ever million-dollar winner for the newest scratch-off lottery game in the Bay State.

Following her first big win, Wilson then netted a second $1 million prize from playing 100X Cash. Her prize was won via a $10 ticket. She claimed the money on May 1.

For both games, “she opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes),” the Massachusetts lottery website revealed.

When she won her first $1 million prize, Wilson said that she planned to use some of her winnings to buy an SUV. She did in fact purchase the vehicle, according to the site.

This time around, Wilson said she plans to put her winnings into savings.

Wilson purchased her second ticket at Family Food Mart, 660 East St. in Mansfield. She’s not the only one making bank. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

She bought her first $1 million winning ticket at Dubs’s Discount Liquors, 30 Chauncy St. in Mansfield.

Wilson joined fellow Massachusetts residents Kevin Miller and Kenneth J. Stokes as the only players to hit the jackpot twice.

The odds of winning either game are 1.5 million to one. The odds of winning the lottery twice are 283 billion to one, according to UK National Lottery operator Camelot.

Gecimar of Martha’s Vineyard became the third $1 million prize winner in the state lottery’s JAWS instant ticket game

On May 3, Gecimar Silva of Tisbury, Mass., also became the third $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s JAWS instant ticket game, which went on sale Tuesday, March 26.

Silva, a painter who has lived on Martha’s Vineyard for 18 years, said he bought the JAWS ticket since it was new and the movie was filmed on the island, according to the state lottery’s site.

Similar to Wilson, he opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said that he hasn’t gone on a vacation in 30 years, but he plans to take a trip to Florida with his winnings.

Silva, who claimed his prize Friday, May 3 at Mass Lottery headquarters in Dorchester, purchased his $1 million winning ticket at Depot Market, 141 Upper Main St. in Edgartown. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket as well.

The JAWS instant ticket game includes three more instant grand prizes of $1 million. It also features a series of five Second Chance Drawings in which a total of 30 winners awarded a JAWS-inspired trip for two to Martha’s Vineyard in the summer of 2025, per the state lottery’s site.

While on the Vineyard, all 30 trip winners will participate in a JAWS-themed Game Show in which one contestant is guaranteed to win a $1 million prize. All other contestants will win a guaranteed prize ranging from $500 to $10,000, according to the Massachusetts ads.
