New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has been in concussion protocol for nearly two weeks. Will the Giants rookie play in Week 7?

Malik Nabers Clears Concussion Protocol

On Thursday, the Giants announced that Nabers cleared concussion protocol, making him eligible to play in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nabers suffered a concussion after his head hit the turf in a Thursday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys on October 3. Nabers has been out the past two games because of the concussion.

Despite being a full participant at practice on Thursday, Nabers is also dealing with a groin problem.

Before the injury, Nabers was statistically one of the best receivers in the NFL. The rookie has 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns. Nabers quickly became quarterback Daniel Jones’ favorite target, averaging 13 targets per game.

With Nabers back in the lineup, Darius Slayton moves to the No. 2 receiver while Jaylin Hyatt moves back to the bench.

New York Giants Dealing With Numerous Injuries

While Nabers should be back in the lineup, the Giants will be missing star left tackle Andrew Thomas for the rest of the season. Thomas needed surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury in his foot, effectively ending his season.

The Giants may also be without two of their defensive stars on Sunday.

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (hip) and edge rusher Brian Burns (groin) sat out for the second consecutive practice Thursday.

The Giants (2-4) host the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) on Sunday.
