Jalen Green, Girlfriend Draya Michele Welcome Baby Girl

Houston Rockets star Jalen Green and his girlfriend, Draya Michele, welcomed their baby girl into the world recently. Michele, 39, revealed the news on Friday in an Instagram post, adding that Mother’s Day has always been hard to celebrate since her dad passed away on the holiday in 2021.

Now, Mother’s Day takes on a more joyful meaning for Michele after her newborn arrived on May 12. The former Basketball Wives LA star says she’s “forever grateful” to have a daughter of her own.

“My daughter was safely brought into this world,” Michele said in her Instagram post, “and I’m forever grateful for the new memories we all get to experience moving forward.”

Green, 22, has been romantically linked to Michele since August 2023, according to People. On March 8, 2024, his girlfriend announced the pregnancy with a series of photos featuring her baby bump. That day was International Women’s Day as well.

The couple hosted a baby shower last month to celebrate the impending arrival of their daughter.

“As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, ‘What is my purpose?’ For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades,” she wrote on Instagram.

Michele also revealed the sex of her and Green’s baby.

“If anything can surpass the wonder of being a woman, it’s the privilege of bringing another woman into existence,” she added. “We are overjoyed to share our love for you, little girl. I’m excited to speak words to the daughter I never thought I’d have.”

Green revealed he was going to be a father on March 19 after scoring a career-high 42 points

Following Houston’s 137-114 win over the Washington Wizards on March 19, the NBA star announced that he was going to be a father in the postgame interview after scoring a career-high 42 points.

The 6-foot-4 guard listed “my family [and] my baby” as his priorities after his dominating performance.

Green, who finished his third NBA season with the Rockets, has yet to address the birth of his daughter. This will be Green and Draya’s first child together.

The fashion designer also has two sons, 21-year-old Kniko and 7-year-old Jru, with former NFL player Orlando Scandrick. Jalen Green also welcomed a baby in February with California student Myah Iakopo.

Michele has had several relationships with professional athletes. She once dated former Wizards player Gilbert Arenas. The Pennsylvania native was also engaged to New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
